i had planned to tell mae about my date last night, but when i got home she was already asleep and then when i woke up this morning for work she was still asleep. i left her a note saying i'd be home earlier today and then headed to work. i got there and immediately distracted myself from the reoccurring thought about last night and how devastated corbyn looked. why i didn't kiss him i don't know, but i've been beating myself up about it ever since.

i was taking someone's order when i seen zach walk in the door, and my heart skipped a beat. he looked extremely good for it to he so early in the morning with his hair perfectly styled and his smile melting me. i mean who's that smiley this early in the morning anyways? i was snapped from my thoughts when the person i was tending to moved out of the way leaving zach to walk right up to me.

"ah well good morning y/n" he said, and i was shocked he even remembered me. "you remembered my name?" i asked "well of course... plus it's kind of written on your name tag" he said with a laugh. "oh" i said, embarrassed. "but if it makes you feel any better, i remembered it anyways. i was actually hoping you'd be here today" he said, now seeming a little shy. "oh, why's that?" i asked him.

"well... i couldn't stop thinking about you since i left here yesterday" he said and i instantly was extremely nervous. my pulse quickened and my palms became sweaty... what did he mean by that. he cleared his throat nervously "i was um, wondering... if you'd wanna maybe go get coffee sometime? oh wait, no you work at a coffee shop you're probably tired of coffee. o- or we could go get lunch... if you want to that is" he stumbled on his words nervously, making me laugh.

"zach, i'd love to get lunch with you" i said and he seemed to calm down after that. he smiled back at me "okay, great" he said and then someone behind him in line complained about him taking too long, which made me laugh. he then placed his order and moved over to the side to wait for it. i fixed his coffees and then brought them over to him "i'm so not good at this... i totally forgot to get your number" he said shyly and i laughed. "check your receipt... see ya later zach" i said with a wink, hoping it looked as smooth as it did in my head, before i walked back to fix the next order.

i found myself still thinking about zach the rest of my shift until it was time for me to head home. as i drove home i got a text and waited until i was at a stoplight to look and see who it was "good morning, hope you slept well. last night was fun... but next time i'm paying, okay?" the text read from corbyn. oh my gosh... CORBYN.

i was so consumed by zach i had completely forgotten about corbyn. a part of me felt bad for accepting a date with zach when i had, whatever it was going on with corbyn. i mean we weren't dating, but i think i could see myself dating him... i mean he's really sweet and caring. maybe i'll just go on the date with zach and see how i feel afterwards? i mean it's not like they'd ever know about eachother... something like this has never happened to me before.

my head was swimming all over the place and by the time i got home i was exhausted. mae was in the kitchen when i got home and ran to ask me how my date with corbyn had went, because i briefly told her i had a date about 30 minutes before i left yesterday. i wasn't in a mood to talk so i just gave her the brief rundown, but then decided not to tell her about my date with zach. i don't know what's to come of it, so what's the point in getting her hopes up. i finally made it to my room and plopped down on the bed, took off my shoes, climbed under the covers and took a long nap. ___________________________________
