today's saturday, and my date with zach! luckily i'm off work today, so i actually slept in today... but was a little too excited to see zach so i only slept in like an hour longer. i woke up and told mae, in further detail about my date with corbyn "so if he's so great, why didn't you kiss him?" she asked, confused "i don't really know... it just didn't feel right in the moment i guess. it doesn't make sense to me either, but he's honestly great and i felt really bad afterwards. i text him this morning though, so everything's fine between us" i reassured her.
i told mae i had some errands to run when i left the house to go meet zach, still not wanting to tell her about my date yet. zach had text me last night saying he'd meet me at a little café and text me the address. i got there to find zach sitting at a table outside, he stood up and wrapped me in a hug as i approached the table. "this place is so cute, i've drove past this place so much but never been" i said right before the waiter come to take our order
i don't know what it was about zach, but something drew me to him and i felt giddy everytime i thought about him now. we talked a bit before our food came and i was starving so i instantly dug into my food. we talked and laughed a little as we ate, and then zach suggested we get ice cream. so we walked around the little shopping mall we were near and eventually found an ice cream shop.
we walked around some shops as we ate our ice cream, and zach ended up buying some very goofy looking sunglasses... even after i tried to talk him out of it. we eventually made our way back to our cars and it seemed the date was over since we'd been here for hours. but i didn't want it to be, so i then suggested we just go for a drive, and zach liked that idea.
we loaded up in zach's comaro and headed up the hollywood hills with no destination in mind, just driving with the windows down and music blasting. it was really nice. after driving awhile we made it to a lookout point, where you could see the ocean in the distance and by now the sun was starting to set over the horizon.
zachs parked the car and we perched our selves leaning against the wooden fence in front of us. i could see zach looking over at me from the corner of my eye so i looked back at him to find him smiling "what?" i asked "nothing... this was such a fun day. this may be the best first date i've been on" he said. and even though i knew it was a date, hearing him say it made my heart flutter.
i smiled at him "you know... i agree" i said looking back out at the view. "you know y/n i have no idea what it is about you... but i feel like we've known eachother for forever." he said grabbing my attention, and scooting closer to me while not breaking eye contact. "i feel the same way zach" i replied. i briefly thought to mention the music video, but decided it wasn't the right time.
"i know we've literally only just met... but i definitely want to get to know you more" he said, leaning even closer to me. "i'd like that" i said with a smile. it was happening, same as with corbyn... i knew he was about to kiss me. zach stared at my lips a second and then back to my eyes, as if he was asking for permission. i leaned in a bit, as if to say yes... and then our lips collided. everything in that moment disappeared except for zachs lips on mine and the way his hands held my face, and i was completely okay with that. ___________________________________
