"Hey. Come on. We should go." Brian said to me.

They took a week off of the tour for Matt, due to Val having the baby. Brian wants me to go with him to Matt's house to see the baby too.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for Matt, I really am; I just don't know how I feel about stepping into his house again. I mean, I lived with the man for a few months, and now he's got a fiance and kid there. Plus, I don't feel like dealing with the Val drama. I would also like to spend just a few hours at home.

"Brian, I'm gonna stay home." I said.

Disappointment fell over his face. I just don't belong there. I don't care what anyone says. It doesn't feel right.

"Tatum, at some point you are going to have to put this shit aside with Val." He said.

Well, this is new. Now he is defending Val? Before it was all about not letting her get to me or keeping her away from me. I found myself becoming angry. Is he taking her side now?

"You're right, Brian. Val has been so pleasant towards me in the past. I find myself wanting to be her new BFF." I sneered.

Brian groaned and sat down on the couch. Sighing, he ran a hand through his hair. He looked up at me with pleading eyes. Nope. I'm not giving in. Not this time.

"Maybe she will be different now that she's not pregnant and hormonal." He offered.

I just laughed. That will be the fucking day.

"I've done nothing to her, Brian. I'm not about to apologize to her, or go out of my way to be her friend. Go see your friends. The house is locked up tighter than Fort Knox. We have alarms on every door and window, and cameras. I will be fine. Plus, I've missed the dogs." I told him.

"Tatum, I can't leave you here alone. I just can't." He sighed.

"At some point we have to learn how to. Now is a good starting point." I said.

"I don't like it. It makes me nervous." He told me.

"I'll have my phone with me." I said.

"Fine. One hour. But, you will call me if you get scared, or something is wrong, understand?" He asked.

"I do. I'll see you in a bit." I told him.

After kissing me goodbye, I headed up to lay in the bed with my dogs. I giggled as Cujo rolled on his back to get a belly rub. Thor quickly followed suite wanting the same attention.

Once we were all settled, I laid in the bed watching TV. It felt strange being alone, but it was also nice too. It gave me a small feeling of being independent again. Something I haven't felt in such a long time.

My phone ringing brought me out of my relaxation. I felt nervous when I didn't recognize the number. My hands shook slightly as I answered it.

"Hello?" I asked.

"Is this Tatum?" A male voice asked.

"Who is this?" I asked, feeling panicked.

"This is officer Michaels with the Huntington Beach police department. I'm sorry for calling so late, but, we found your car that had been reported as stolen a while back." He said.

My mind reeled back to the first encounter with Gage. My stomach clenched in fear. My palms felt sweaty. I shivered a little.

"Oh. Um, ok." I said.

"It is in the police impound. We need you to pick it up at some point." He said.

"I see. I'll have to get back to you." I whispered.
