Your little scholar who was eager to learn everything
Who was fascinated by books a little too advanced for her age
The little girl soaked up any information like a sponge
Who while watching princess get their happily ever after also
watched documentaries
What happened to her?
Well you see she grew up
She grew under the constant pressure of
Trying to be perfect
Trying not to be a fuck up
Trying to meet society's standards and yours
Trying to make you proud
While also trying not to die
Trying so hard that she started losing herself in the process
She started comparing herself to others while having the pressure of the standards you set for on her shoulders
That she started thinking that she wasn't good enough
And with her trying to push herself academically
She started deter deteriorate mentally
She started using her arms as notepads to solve equations because her mind was to clouded with self doubt to focus
Her eyes have cried letters and poems that no literature teacher will ever see
She has tried to figure out why her success has caused her soo much pain
As you look at her so proudly as she crosses the stage to receive her award
Never wondering how much it took for her to get there in the first place
Not sure what inspired me to write this but I hope y'all enjoy and remember that even though school is important your mental health is too
So if you need to take a break please do cause school is stressful af
