Enma's POV
'Well ain't this just lovely.' I thought as various kinds of monsters roar outside the city walls.
'So those are the Fruen hopefuls? They look decent enough.' Looking just down below the city wall, I saw various teenagers about my age lined up in front of the gate.
"Oi! You are not allowed up here kid! Shouldn't you be down there?" Blinking in surprise, I turned around and saw a middle aged man dressed in what, seems to be a soldier attire.
Waving my hands in denial, I answered his question.
"Ah, no. I'm not here to enroll at Fruen High, I'm here to see how they do. As if they can teach me anything new anyway. Maybe how to put a stick up the ass, that seems interesting." I said, while muttering the last part.
"Ah is that so, but still, you are not allowed up here. Only soldiers from the city or in some cases, adventurers, are allowed up here." Scratching my head in reluctance, I was about to heed the kind soldiers' orders and go down. Only for a voice to stop me.
"No need for that, I can vouch for him to stay up here." We turned around to see Watson climbing up the stair wall, and heading towards us.
"Ah, Ms. Watson! This kid with you?" The soldier asked as Watson nodded her head, and stood beside me. Since Watson is here, Pekora should be-
"RADDISH HEAD!!" Chuckling at Pekora's insult, I turned around to say something to her, only to see SZ heading towards me.
"Oi! Oi! What did I tell you about throwing this oversized carrot around huh?!" I yelled at her as I caught SZ's blade with ease.
"We are going to have a talk later peko." I nearly shrieked at how narrowed and resentful Pekora's gaze was. But I immediately composed myself as I heard roars and shouts down below.
"Here it comes." I heard Watson mutter beside me, as I scan the battlefield below.
All kinds of spells were used as the Fruen hopefuls and soldiers of Rufubin engaged with monster horde.
I sensed how frantic the magicka essence in the air is, with all this chaos happening."They are good, but most of them are just throwing spells without looking if it hit a friendly or not. Such a waste, they won't enter Fruen High if that's only what they can do." I commented as we watch various teenagers throw spells after spells at the monster horde, hitting some soldiers in the process.
"This is boring peko." Pekora said as she lazily leaned on the wall.
"It's only natural you know, most of the hopefuls down there, didn't come from prestigious families or clans. While those that did, are pretty eye catching." Watson said as sipped on the teacup she was holding.
'Where in the effin hell did she get that teacup‽' Glancing at the cup in suspicion, I nodded at her statement.
"Even then, those that came from those clans and families, mostly just use third ranked spells. Talk about lackluster and boring." Shaking my head in disappointment, I conjured a chair from the city wall and sat down.
Feeling two pairs of eyes settle on me, I looked at the source and found Watson and Pekora staring at me and the chair.
"What? You want a chair too?"
