It was night in the palace, all you could hear was crickets and footsteps of the heavily guarded palace. Snow while reading her mothers book found a map of the castle with secret passages and exits which explains why her father didn't want her anywhere near it but...couldn't he have just destroyed it or maybe theres more to it...
She read that in her mothers old study room there is a way to leave but the problem is its the one room her father forbade anyone from entering meaning that there are many guards surrounding that room. So her and Esteban thought of a very risky plan but it might work if they play there cards right. Step one though is too free Ella without being seen. The two waited quietly behind a wall where two guards stood firmly. There was some knight armor hung up for display so the two quietly took it and wore the armor. Snow already came up with names for them and Esteban came up with the actual details since Snow was not good at that. Snow wanted to be that one gay named Bob which Esteban did not understand and Snow declared he shall be Steve much to his dismay. Snow loved coming up with nicknames for people sometimes calling her sister 'Joe' or 'Chad' just to annoy her.
The two walked past the guards but they halted them "Where are you supposed to guard, we have to double check especially with princess Snows little maid stunt" Esteban glared at Snow for a moment while Snow pouted "Uhmmm were just patrolling the area, after all the princess is quite unpredictable so we have to make sure to monitor the whole castle" the two guards eyed them suspicously"then take off your helmets" Snow gulped "Look were just doing our jobs, the princess is a crafty one so were following out duties. Got a problem with that?" Esteban responded smoothly which took Snow by surprise 'damn he's good, he must sneak around his own castle as well' the guards shook there heads hesitantly and let the two go.
"Have you done this kind of thing before Steve" Esteban sighed in annoyance by the name "yeah, I used to sneak off and go out with my REAL friends instead of those nobles who just want my title, they can take it for all I care I hate being a prince" Snow nodded understandingly "I hate being a princess too, I never made a genuine friend before" Snow sighed sadly remembering how lonely it is without her mother and how overbearing her sister can be "well you made your first" Esteban said comfortingly which made Snow smile "yeah..."
The two arrived at the prison but were stopped by another guard "why are you here?" luckily Esteban and Snow predicted that this would happen "were here to interrogate one of the prisoners" the guard looked at them suspiciously "which prisoner?" Snow was getting nervous slightly even though they planned this out "Paul Mcjoe the one sentenced for treason" the guard nodded and let the two in.
They walked to Paul's prison until the guard looked away "yo my names Paul" Snow raised her brow at him "is this man really someone who committed treason?!" The man looked at Snow "I had to do it bruh, that king had us all under his dictatorship for too long" Snow was even more confused "dictatorship...?" She mumbled. She was about to ask for more details but Esteban dragged her away "we need to get to Ella"
They both arrive at Ellas prison and Esteban becomes overjoyed "Ella!" They both whisper as they go inside her cell "uhmm hello?" Ella greets them in confusion. Esteban takes off his helmet and so does Snow and Ella smiles brightly "oh my goodness Esteban you came for me!" Esteban rushed up to her "A promise is a promise Ella" Snow thought this was the most adorable thing ever but they needed to move quickly "theres another exit out of the prison meaning a different guard" Snow whispered as the two nodded "Esteban is gonna knock that guy out and Ella your gonna wear his armour, your code name is Chad!" Ella looked confused by that while Esteban facepalmed "we'll get out of here soon Ella, just stay close to me" Ella nodded and three went to knock that other guard out.
Esteban somehow knocked him out and gave Ella the armour and three now moved to the secret passage in her mothers old study. On there way there Ella and Esteban talked about what they would do when they leave and how they wanted to live in a cottage with there three children while Esteban takes her to adventures. "How are you two already in love when you just met in a ball?" Snow questioned thinking it might have been too fast "well...we've known each other for a while since I'm not actually from this kingdom" Ella responded with her soft smile "I met her when I was 12 and I had run away from the castle and I saw some mean boys picking on her so I told them off, we became friends and over the years fell in love. Father knew well I wanted to marry Ella which is why he tried to find me a wife which is why he brought me here" Esteban said while Snow thought it was adorable "awwww you two are so cute together" Snow squealed while the two blushed "s-shut up!" Esteban yelped as Snow giggled calling Esteban a tsundere.
The tree arrive at the study and Snow looks around since its been a while since shes been in here. Esteban looks at the map and tries to figure out how to open the secret passage. "AFTER THEM!" They hear footsteps metal approaching the room "they found us out" Ella screamed in fear as Esteban finally found the passage, Snow and Ella crawl through the tunnel but Esteban didn't "E-Esteban come on!" Me and Ella both teied to get him in but he simply looked at Ella sadly "I'll find you again someday Ella, I promise you I will find you" he closes the passage and Ella screams trying to open it "NO ESTEBAN!!" Ella starts crying and trying to kick it down but Snow embraces her in a hug trying to calm her down. Ella cries into Snows shoulders while Snow comforts her "he'll be back...he's strong"
After calming Ella down a bit the kept moving, Ella was silent understandably but then she said something odd "what if he doesn't make it...?" Ella mumbled to herself "I just watched him smooth talk the guards better than I can and even take one out, he's definitely not going down without a fight" Ella sadly smiled at this "he never stops fighting..."
The two make it outside the wall and run towards the city. When they make it Snow is taken aback by how beautiful it is "wow..." the people look happy as well "and they said he was a dictator?" Snow mumbled while walking around in awe. Ella frowned at this "it may seem like its all happy and fun since he practically brainwashed these people...your only happy if you follow his rules" Ella mumbled while Snow wasn't focused so she didn't hear "its just like what I dreamed!" Snow hears music coming from the town square and runs there "Snow wait!" Ella exclaims as she runs behind her
Snow sees a little festival in honor of Snows engagement 'well this is technically my party so I should be able to enjoy it!' She looks at the people dancing not a boring waltz but a upbeat joyful dance that kind of looked fun "dance with me Ella!" Snow exclaimed grabbing Ellas hand "Snow we need to be careful" Snow nodded "and I will but pretty please just this one song, we both need after everything thats happened!" Ella sighs and nods "only for 15 minutes and then were leaving"
The two dance for a short while and Snow is having the time of her life, she saw some boys admiring her but she paid no attention to them. For the first time Snow felt happy and alive, she felt at home.
