Saturday morning.
One of my favourite days.
And it is a day where I can hide out from my friends who are presumably going to murder me when the Hogwarts' caretaker realizes something is missing from his office and punish the three of us for weeks.
The sun was bright and shone through the windows of the dormitory, casting a good amount of light for reading. I skipped my breakfast at the Great Hall, and my kind and caring roommates were gracious enough to bring me an apple. Locking myself in the room, I brought out the diary and tapped it with my wand, reciting the translating incantation.
Property of Roman Ungern von Sternberg [The very first page of the diary said] It has been a dark and gloomy night, moonlight barely illuminating the stones and I was patrolling through the castle when I discovered something that may belong to Salazar Slytherin.
I paused midway when I read the name of one of the Hogwarts' founders, Salazar Slytherin. Then, the forgotten dream came rushing back to me as the horrible nightmare replayed in my mind. How I have forgotten it, I don't know, but I knew I had to investigate after reading this.
Forcing myself to calm, I read the continuing page,
I have found my teacher, Salazar Slytherin, many times in the dark corridors and decided to follow his steps to find out what has been keeping him awake. When I realized that he visits a certain room every week or so, I timed my plan right and decided to investigate myself.
What I have found was terrifying; a marble in the middle of the room, covered in fine engravings of snakes.
Stopping midway, I shut the book with force and hid it inside my piles of clothes and changed into something presentable. Hurrying down the corridor, I tried to make my way swift but was interrupted when I stumbled into someone.
My steps slowed down when they came into view and the reason that I have locked myself in the Gryffindor Tower came back to my mind.
"Vivienne," Tom said, his voice like a winter blizzard.
"Hello," I acknowledged them nervously. My mind suddenly went to drift off as to why the two Slytherins were always together. Shrugging the thought off, I tried for a smile. "How are you doing?"
"We didn't see you at breakfast," remarked Tom, looking at me with expectant eyes.
Abraxas narrowed his eyes as he took a step closer to me, his pale face showing scepticism. "Where have you been?"
Straightening my back, I let my expression settle into calmness. "I didn't feel well this morning," I lied, grimacing slightly to prove my point.
"Well, why aren't you in the Hospital Wing then?" the raven-haired spoke sceptically.
"It was nothing serious," I replied in lightly.
"Then where are you going?"
"Um," the word slipped out of my mouth before I could stop.
A smile spread across his face as if his theory was right. He strolled towards me, Abraxas following along until they were only a few centimetres away.
"Let me guess: you're trying to search for the Chamber of Secrets."
I forced my posture to not go stiff and looked at him with false confusion. "What's the Chamber of Secrets? And why do you think I'm searching for it?"
"The diary."
My eyes widened in shock. "What?"
"We searched up the name in the diary," Abraxas explained grimly. "After some research, we realized that the name Roman Ungern von Sternberg is actually the Bloody Baron."
