After coming to the conclusion that Thor may be the reason for my sudden appearance here I had a nearly impossible time getting to sleep. So when I got up at the crack of dawn and walked to the training room I was already frustrated while waiting for Colonel Jack O'Neill, only to have him walk into the training room, roll his eyes, then huff with a smirk of amusement and drag me to the lunch room to have some breakfast.
"You need to eat before we train." O'Neill says as he gently grabs my shoulder and goes to sit me down before sitting next to me.
His hand is firmly on my shoulder as he pushes me into the seat, the move is firm and yet oddly gentle as he does it. "Otherwise I'll just kick your ass."
With a sigh I begin filling up my plate awkwardly. Having people I don't know very well around while I eat always seems uncomfortable. It's a bit different if it's in a restaurant setting but, in a lunchroom situation, surrounded by people I don't know that well.. unfortunately it's always been difficult. So, I slowly began to eat my breakfast. It was rather good at least.
Colonel Jack O'Neill was watching me eat in silence as he did the same. I carefully keep my eyes on my own plate, hoping to avoid the awkwardness that I was feeling. "So, Hanson.."
"Just call me Ava." I interrupt him simply and he clears his throat.
"Right." He drawls as he looks at me with a raised eyebrow when my eyes meet his own. "My team is going to be doing their own thing today, so it'll be just me and you in the training room."
I nod my head at that as a frown tugs on my lips. "Wouldn't it be best for them to train with us?"
"I know the rest of my teams skills." He replies bluntly as he takes a bite of egg from his plate. After he finishes chewing he speaks again. "But, aside from your humor, your moments of knowing things or whatever you call it and that everything about you is apparently considered classified. I need to know more about your individual skills and abilities."
Nodding my head in agreement I don't argue with him at all about it. It wouldn't exactly be worth it for me anyway. He sighs but doesn't say anything else. After we finish we walk to the training room to see it empty causing me to frown.
"No one else is here?" I ask him curiously as I begin to look around the room.
Jack sighs causing me to turn back towards him and raise an eyebrow as I see him watching me, his posture is relaxed however. "Just us. Teal'c is doing his own thing and so are the others. I mean.. we could gather an audience, but that means that if you lose then everyone will see it."
Glancing back at him I sigh as I move to the center of the room. "Alright. You know that I only have basic fighting skills right?"
"Yes." He says in agreement as he walks towards me. "That's what you said before. But, it'll be better if you get more practice. You never know when you'll need to defend yourself or someone else."
Nodding my head I do my best to force myself to relax, not that it did much. Shortly after he strikes, my first move is to duck and back away quickly before swinging my leg towards him. However he was able to catch my leg easily, then he twists my leg causing me to fall.
Rolling away quickly before I force myself to my feet as he quickly moves closer towards me. Moving my arm as fast as I can I try to strike him in the face, however he catches my arm before it makes contact. He shakes his head and throws me backwards, almost causing me to fall over my own feet.
"Come on Hanson." He begins tauntingly.
"Ava." I retort back as I watch him with narrowed eyes as he raises an eyebrow at me. "My name is Ava."
