I don't see my mom's car so I run inside the new place before she gets in. Once I got inside I look around. It's nice and it's a little bigger than our last place, too. My mom already got the living room and dining room put together. I go check out her bedroom and she already got that together, too. I peep my head into my brother's room, he got his bed and stuff up, but he got a long way to go. I check out the bathroom and it's all together and then I go to my room. My bed is up, but everything else wow. I take off my dress and throw on my black legging and a t-shirt and got started with my unpacking and putting things away. I found my stereo put it together and start getting my party on as I'm getting my room the way I want it to be.
I like this room; it's bigger than my last room, so I can do more in this room. I was so into unpacking and listen to my music that I didn't hear my mother come in.
"So glad that you decided to find your way home, young lady."
"Hi, mom, how you doing today?"
"I'm good, thank you, so do you like our new place?"
"Yeah, it's nice, mom, and it's bigger, too."
"Yeah, I know, I got your voice message. Tiff going have to start finding herself another sitter."
"Why, mom, what's the issue now?"
"For one, that girl got too much going on with her, and, for two, I don't trust your dad."
"I understand all that, mom, and you right about Tiff, but I can't stop my life because of D.W., mom."
"I know that baby, but at the same time you going have to be more careful too now that he home."
"I know, mom, trust, I understand and I know no matter what I say you going worried anyway, but, trust, mom, I'm good. But, enough about D.W., mom, are we still doing the family Juneteenth cookout this year."
"Yeah, I don't see why not, why you asked?"
"Because I wanted to invite Mike and y'all be able to meet him."
"Oh, so, you finally going let me meet Mike?"
"Yes, mom."
"Okay, well, I'm about to cook. It's been a long time since I cook and it's been a long time that we were all at home at the same time."
"Really? Mark home?"
"Yeah, he down the street at the basketball court with his friends."
"Wow, okay, cool."
