The virus

Chapter 1

Sani's POV:

I woke up to seeing pure blackness, I sighed "what do you want Rez?"

"Wake up bitch boy, we have to leave, now" Rez said in a hurry, but I swear I heard some excitement in her voice. I then saw her walk over to a backpack and saw her fill it with food, water, some clothes, her throwing knifes and bandages.

"What?" I asked confused and sat up "why? What's happening?"

"Remember the rumors about a virus from about a week ago? Well the virus is real, it hit the other side of our town about an hour ago. We have to leave now before we get it" She said and adjusted her backpack on her back.

"Is it really that bad?" I stood up, happy that I trained until late the day before which made me to lazy to change into my pyjama's.

"Yes! People are dying and the town is literally getting destroyed because of the badly infected ones. Start packing up as much stuff as you can and be outside as fast as possible" Rez said like it's the most obvious thing ever and walked out of the house.

I was shocked by hearing that, I quickly started packing up my own backpack, with basically the same stuff as Rez's but my bow and arrow instead of throwing knifes. When I was ready I walked outside, still shocked and also scared.

I looked around me and saw a man grabbing his head as his skin slowly started turning completely black, he seemed to be in a lot of pain. His hands started turning into big claws and he let out a scream out of pain.

I then felt someone grabbing my arm and realized Rez was dragging me out of town. I quickly also started running, still shocked and confused because of what was happening.

Mercy's POV:

I'm sat down against a tree, thinking about what had just happened. I used to live happily in my hometown, now I'm on the run of a weird ass virus. I don't even know where to go. It all happened so fast, three corrupted attacked the town, the people tried to maintain them but they were getting infected to easily. When they were busy distracting the corrupted I took my chance and packed my stuff, when I saw it was getting out of hand I left.

I saw duck when I was almost out of town, we traveled further from there. I am glad that duck is here with me, better than all alone, I've known him since we were 6 years old. We train together a lot, even though our abilities are almost completely different, it actually makes the training more interesting and I also think we will have an advantage if we get attacked.

He's still annoying af though.

"So what do we do now?" I looked up to Duck's question but he wasn't looking at me, he was throwing one of his ninja stars into a tree instead.

"I don't know, I didn't expect a random virus to show up and drive us out of our town" I said with a cocky tone.

Duck facepalmed but also let out a slight laugh "why out of all the people were you the one that I ended up with" he mumbled with a smirk on his face

I stood up "Must've been faith, who wouldn't want to be with me in an apocalypse, I can beat up anyone that attacks me" I said sarcastically with a smirk

"Yeah sure, believe what you want" Duck said and rolled his eyes

I was about to give another cocky response but then I saw Duck's eyes widen and the what felt like the tip of a blade pressed against my back.
