Aqua's POV:

I stared at the creature trapped underneath me, my foot pressed against it's throat. I took my chance and thrust my sword through it's stomach, tearing through it's flesh.

It upset me knowing that it was once a human, just like me, but I couldn't take the risk of the it infecting anyone else. Besides, even if we were to let it go, it would probably just try to infect or kill us again.

I looked to my right, seeing Spirit holding down the right arm of the creature, and then to my left, watching mark, who was restraining the other.

The creature squirmed for a while, before its breaths started shallowing out until it eventually completely stopped breathing. I let out a sad sigh of relief i didn't know i was holding in. I ripped my sword out of its stomach, looking sadly at all the blood covering my blade. "We better get going again."

They both nodded in agreement and we started walking away from the now dead body.

We walked for a little while and Spirit was first to break the silence "Uh.. guys?" I heard her say, a hint of nervousness lacing her tone.

She was pointing towards a tree, which upon closer inspection was covered in blood, some dripping to the ground. It seemed as though whoever that was might not have survived.

Mark made his way towards the tree to have a closer look. "We should just continue walking, if whoever this was is still alive, they're most likely infected anyway."

Spirit and I both nodded and we continued walking.

Sani's POV:

Rez and I had ran into the forest, I had no idea where we were at the moment.

"Okay, so, there's a virus going around that makes people crazy and you can really easily get infected so we had to run. Now we're lost in a forest and desperately need to survive" I said, the reality of the situation finally hitting me.

Rez nodded in agreement "yep, but I don't think the virus just makes you crazy, there's probably more things it does. We just don't know yet."

"That's... actually pretty cool" I laughed slightly, maybe a bit too happy about this crisis. At this point I would rather than my mundane daily routine.

"I know right!" Rez said, suddenly really excited, probably for the same reasons as me.

I laughed a little at her reaction. "We should search for somewhere we can sleep now, unless you feel like sleeping on the cold hard ground." I retorted, making her roll her eyes at me.

"Yeah, thankfully it seems that we still have time for that" she looked up, noticing the sun shining directly above us.

I nodded and started walking deeper into the forest, Rez walking beside me.

Mercy's POV:

I had finally cleaned the wound on my back and just finished bandaged it up, there was also a small band-aid covering the cut on my cheek so it wouldn't get infected.

The mysterious girl was tied up on a tree, my ribbons confining her arms. The rain had finally stopped.

I walked over to her and bent down, getting to her level to speak with her, causing her to make a grimace. "So, to start off, what's your name?"

The girl didn't answer, opting to just stare at me, annoyance evident in her eyes. If looks could kill I'd already be more dead than the infected creatures roaming around.

"Oh come on! Just tell us your name, please!" I whined

She sighed, realizing she had no way out unless she cooperated with us. "it's Aki."

"Nice to meet you, Aki, I'm Mercy and that is Duck" I said while pointing at my companion, who was standing to my left with his arms crossed and his eyebrows knitted together.

Aki didn't say anything back, instead keeping her murderous glare on us, so I just continued. "I have an offer for you, you either leave us alone and go back to whatever you were doing before you attacked us, or you join us and we will share our recourses with you"

"What?! She just attacked us!" Duck shouted in disbelief, making me turn towards him.

"Yeah, and we need any help we can get in this crisis" I sternly responded.

Duck let out a defeated sigh, before sitting down and leaning against a tree.

I turned my attention back at Aki, waiting her response. "So? What's your answer?"

A few tense seconds passed before she finally responded. "I'll join you guys."

"Yay!" I squealed out of happiness, as well as surprise. I released the ribbons around her arms. She got up, rubbing her wrists together as they had gotten sore from being tied up for so long. "Now don't think about doing anything funny, because then we'll have to kill you." I noted with a threateningly happy-go-lucky tone, knowing that we weren't actually going to do that.

She tensed up and nodded, already regretting her decision.

I smiled and sat down against a tree, happy that I had made a new friend.
