George wakes up in a hospital bed, unknowing of where he lies.

"George!" A yell sounds from beside his bed. He looks over and sees his dad hovering over him. He has a concerned look on his face mixed with both sadness and anger. George doesn't understand what's going on.

He tries to speak but no words come out of his mouth. His head hurts. What happened?

George hears loud footsteps. They're unbearable. He feels his head pounding but can't move his hands to feel it. He doesn't understand why he's feeling this way—he feels almost empty, too.

A nurse walks in and says something that George doesn't quite understand. The voices are muffled until the ringing in his ears finally stops for a minute—now he's able to hear the voices. "I'm sorry Mr. Davidson, your wife didn't make it out of surgery," the nurse says as George watches his father's composure crumble. His mom was in surgery? Why? What are they talking about?

His father's hands are drawn to his face,
as he wipes the tears that are streaming down like a waterfall, staining his face.

"Your daughter is in critical condition, but she is alive," the nurse writes something on her clipboard then looks up to George's father, who is crying his heart out. He desperately wants to reach out and hug his father, but can't move, it hurts too much.

"When will I be able to see her?" He yells louder. George can tell he's angry now rather than sad, but still doesn't understand the situation.

Suddenly George hears beeping. The nurse and his father's eyes are drawn to the patient quickly, both of them rushing to him. The Brit is confused again, but suddenly feels tired. The voices fade away; his eyes are closing and he can't stop them. What is happening?

George wakes up to complete silence. This time there's nobody else in the room that he can see. He still can't move his head to look around, though, so the brunette wouldn't know even if there was anyone else in the room.

He's still confused as to why he's in the hospital in the first place. George can't remember what happened, no matter how hard he tries—it only hurts his head to try. One minute he's on his way home from the last day of school, the next he's lying in a hospital bed seeing his father cry. Now, though, George is all alone and still just as much confused. He supposes he had just passed out or something.

George hears the door open quietly and notices his father walk into the room. He is no longer crying and the expression on his face shows anger masked with sadness.

He walks over to the hospital bed, noticing his son's eyes partly open. He tries to talk to George but realizes he can't actually respond. He looks angry now, and stands next to the bed.
