Eiji looked at Ibe-san curiously as it became clear that he was quite visibly frightened.
"What's wrong" asked Eiji as he tried to remain calm but ibe's worried expression wasn't helping.
"I.. um.." Ibe said as he struggled to find the right words. "Let's.. take a seat first" he said as he gestured for Eiji to sit down on a nearby bench.
"Ash is in the hospital. He's hurt really badly."
Those words caused his ears to ring upon hearing them.
He immediately thought of all the happy memories they had together.
There's no way Ash would let himself get hurt this badly, not now. right?
The worst part was supposed to be over. They'd already destroyed all the research on banana fish and Dino was dead. there was supposed to be no one coming after Ash anymore. Ash was supposed to come to japan and they were supposed to be happy together. It wasn't fair.
Eiji could feel his thoughts rushing through his head as his heart beat quickened.
"No. There's no way. Ash isn't in the hospital and this is all just some twisted joke." Eiji said, trying to find something logical to grasp onto.
He felt as though he'd go insane if he lost someone so close to him again. First is was Skipper , who was killed while they were trying to escape the kidnappers. Then it was shorter, who Ash shot while Eiji laid there helplessly as he watched the life drain from shorter's eyes. Eiji couldn't bare the idea of loosing Ash too.
He realize the only option was to return back to America. He needed to be there with Ash. Ash probably needed him too.
So Eiji informed Ibe of this conclusion and another flight was booked back to America.
