There are beings within the realms of Tredecimos - mainly Abaris and Arboria - which are hybrids of man and beast; having the physicalities of a human or metahuman, with certain animalistic appendages. These beings have been dubbed Therianthropes, or Beastmen. Not to be confused with Bestiathropes, better known as Werebeasts; these creatures are a very obvious physical, mental, and spiritual hybrid of a (Meta)Human and a beast. Therianthropes are both man and beast at once; whereas Bestiathropes are (Meta)Humans which have been afflicted with a curse which transforms them fully into a beastial - if somewhat manlike in appearance - creature by a particular phase of the moon. This is a very important distinction to make, especially if one wishes to approach either such creature.

Beastmen are considered a separate category from Humans and the Awakened races; mainly in that nobody is sure of their origin nor wishes to breach the subject, and they maintain a very different type of culture and semblance of civilization from what most consider to be "Proper Society".

The different known types of Beastman are detailed in their physicality and behavior below; namely the Sphinx, Viranea, Virbovem, Vircamelus, Vircanis, Vircapra, Virdraco, Virequus, Virfelis, Virpullus, Virsilvis, and Virvesper.

The species referred to as the Sphinx is commonly separated into two categories. The males are referred to as Androsphynx, which appear with a lion's head and claws upon a burly man's body. The female Gynosphinx appears with the body of a lioness, adorned with immense wings resembling those of an eagle, and the head of a beautiful woman. The sphinx tends to speak in riddles, wield great magic and inhuman logic. They mainly reside in the deserts.

Viranea is the technical term for the Man-Spider. Appearing humanoid from the waist up, their lower body is the engorged body of a spider; the lower torso of the humanoid body cleanly transitioning into the upper body of the spider form, sprouting from where a spider head would be. Man-Spiders often reside in tropical rainforests and the like, prefer spears and bows as far as weaponry goes, and are masters of poison making.

Virbovem is the technical term for the Man-Bull, a creature which appears with the body of a man and the head of a bull. A female will also have udders and a more cowlike coloration to the head. They often reside in grasslands, though many of the males will reside in mountains, caves, and other rocky regions. They can hold a warhammer in each hand with ease, having the strength of a bull.

Vircamelus is the technical term given to the Man-Camel. Appearing mostly humanoid, yet with camel hooves, humps, and a somewhat elongated face that is perhaps more offsetting in its blending of man and camel in one place than the overall Man-Camel itself. They often reside in deserts, and often operate as merchants to wandering travelers through said deserts.

Vircanis is the technical term for a Man-Dog. The Man-Dog appears mostly humanoid, yet with a dog's tail, ears, and acute sense of smell. They are a playful species at times, fiercely territorial at others.

Vircapra is the technical term given to the Man-Goat. The Man-Goat appears humanoid from the waist up, with a goat's hindquarters. The Man-Goat is a free-spirited species; their time filled with song, dance, and hedonism. Some Man-Goats are rather devious tricksters, but generally not in an overtly malicious way.

Virdraco is the technical term for a Man-Dragon. These beings have a mainly humanoid form, adorned with dragon horns, a tail, and dragon eyes. Some variations even have dragonscales upon their form. The temperament and personality of a Man-Dragon is heavily dependent on their scale color; even when those scales are only seen on the tail.

Virequus is the technical term given to the Man-Horse. A horse body, ending at the neck, forms their lower body. The upper body is humanoid, starting from the upper haunches of the horse body. Man-Horses are amazing archers, and incredibly fast besides.

Virfelis is the technical term for a Man-Cat. Man-Cats are mainly humanoid in form; with cat ears, whiskers and a tail. Some also have paws, though this is rare. The Man-Cat is gifted with extraordinary agility, perception and night vision; making them excellent assassins if need be.

Virpullus is the technical term for a Man-Chicken. A curious species with the body of a man and the head and wings of a chicken. These wing arms end in humanlike hands. Man-Chickens are often nomadic, usually acting as merchant caravans between the other Beastman races.

Virsilvis is the technical term for a Man-Gazelle. The Man-Gazelle appears with the upper body of a man, and the lower body of a gazelle up to the point where the gazelle shoulders meet the humanoid waist; along with gazelle horns. Although similar in appearance to the Man-Horse, the Man-Gazelle is generally leaner and smaller overall. Often found competing or fighting with the Man-Horse clans for supremacy.

Virvesper is the technical term for a Man-Bat. A creature with the body of a man; adorned with the ears and wings of a bat - proportionate to the body of course - which end in humanoid fingers. Residing in caves and underground areas, they can see incredibly well in the dark and sense prey and predators alike through echolocation.
