The next day I woke up with an indifferent feeling of hope. Hope that the blonde would eventually back down and realize that his ego doesn't deserve as much as he had given to maintain it.

Daphne and Aurora were in the great hall both sitting at the ravenclaw table, I didn't quite had the urge to listen to them trying to convince me to take in Cedric's invitation to the Bal.

I sat at the gryffindor table as i observed the troubled twins chatting and preparing for the next prank they would pull on neville. Poor Neville always the victim, he thought he wasn't as brave as the rest of the Gryffindor table, but he was. I was sure he was.

"So" Fred started

"Who asked you to the dance?" Goerge completed.

"I- none of your business you nosy"

"I bet Cedric did" Fred said

"I bet ferret" goerge arched an eyebrow

"I bet both" Ron stated catching everyone by surprise.

"What do you mean brother" Fred questioned as he was trying not to burst out of laughing.

"Look both of them has been staring at you for the moment you entered this place, it's irritating" he shoved a bite in his mouth as she sent a death glare to someone behind me.

"Don't be silly Ron" I rolled my eyes as I tactfully took a glance at the back. Indeed they were both staring at he Gryffindor table but that didn't mean anything, didn't it?

"I'm just saying it would surprise me if none of them asks you to the ball"

"What are we talking about" Harry took a place besides Ron and hermione sat besides me across from Harry.

"Oh nothing just your sisters love life" fred chuckled.

"What? What love life?" He choked on his words.

"Relax, it's just them behaving like toddlers"

"Alright" he looked at me "I'm thinking of asking cho"

"Cho Chang?" I questioned. I had quite thought of that, I had fought him staring at her at the library whenever we would meet to do research's bout the egg.

"Yes" he smiled awkwardly

"Good luck them" I smiled as I took another slice of bread spreading marmalade on top of it.

"Erm" someone cleared his throat from behind me "Avelline have you though of-"

Cedric. No I hadn't thought at all about you. I was rather busy trying to solve the riddle malfoy had given me.

"I- let's go somewhere private yeah?"

He nodded and we left. This time we didn't go somewhere far away, we just walked a couple of feet away the great hall, just to talk.

"We'll have you?" He grew utterly impatient while I was mere confused. My emotions were mixed and I wasn't good at figuring out my feelings.

"I need more time please" I looked at him, his grey eyes were staring at me in a such intense manner, for a moment I thought he was burning balls within my skin.

"Avel-"

"Can we talk" that was demanding. Both me and Cedric snapped our heads towards the blonde blue eyes boy.

His hair was messy, the skin under his eyes hissed and slightly purple. He looked awful, he looked like he didn't have much sleep. Didnt blame him though, I didn't either.

"Umm yes" I said in a tactful tone.

"But Avelline I need to kno- never mind see you later" Cedric let out a deep irritating sight and left.
