Dramione One Shot

A/N: The torture curse is being used here, without a wand. I'm aware that's not how it works, but bear with it for the sake of the one shot please :)

The dark silhouette shifted closer to Hermione. She tried to steady her breath but it was of no use.

"Reveal yourself." she commanded with all the force she could muster.

"I don't take orders from a mudblood." said the voice of Lucius Malfoy.

"I recognized your voice, and now I know you're Lucius Malfoy- so guess what dillhead, you just did. You obeyed me." she rolled her eyes.

Lucius Malfoy kneeled down across Hermione, and removed his death eater mask. His long fingers enclosed around his wand, he released the fetters that bound her. The moment he did, she sprang on her legs and kneed his face. 

Satisfied with the blood that dripped down his nose, she grabbed his wand and prepared to apparate away, but right before she could, Lucius whispered the Cruciatus Curse under his breath, causing Hermione to fall to the ground as a sharp pain overtook her.

"I don't need a wand, Granger." he laughed while her body wriggled in pain. She tried her best not to cry, but the tears came cascading down.

Lucius was enjoying her screams.

"Bring him in." He said to no one in particular.

Hermione tried to fight back, to conquer the pain, but she couldn't. Not until he came in, held at wandpoint. 

"Dr-" she tried but a scream escaped her, making Draco's head snap to her.

"HERMIONE NO- FATHER PLEASE STOP." Hermione could see tears coming out of his eyes and she tried her best to hide her pain to stop the one she loved from feeling it too.

"D- Draco, hey. I'm okay." Hermione ignored all the pain, all the fires in every part of her body, every single throb of her head, and the way her eyes felt like they'd pop out any second. "It's okay." 

"Father, please." Draco tried to approach Hermione but the ones behind him shot a spell that just missed his ear. 

"This is what you get for dating the mudblood. You're a traitor Draco. A bloody traitor." Lucius's voice drawled.

"Then hurt me! Don't hurt her please. Please, father I beg you."

"You can make it all stop, Draco. You can be my son. You can redeem yourself."

"I just want you to stop the torture you're inflicting upon her. Please." His tears wouldn't stop, and he stiffened when he heard Hermione yell again.

"Like I said, you can make it all stop."

"How?" Draco sounded hopeful.

"Kill her." 

There was silence. He had lifted the curse off Hermione, and bound her in fetters again. 

"No."

"Kill her or I'll kill you." 

Draco was taken aback. He held his mouth open in shock. "You- You'd kill your own son?"

"You're no son of mine. But you will be if you choose to kill her." Even though Hermione wasn't looking at Lucius, she could hear the smirk in his voice.

"Draco, listen to him. Kill me." Hermione's vision was blurry with tears.

"No, Hermione I can't. I won't!"

"Don't you understand? If you don't kill me, he'll kill you!" 

"I KNOW THAT! SHIT! I can not kill you. Hermione, I'd do anything to protect you, and if that means I have to die, so be it." Draco took in a deep breath.

"DRACO NO! WHAT GIVES YOU THE GUARANTEE THAT THEY WON'T KILL ME THE MINUTE YOU DIE? AND IF THEY WON'T I'LL BLOODY KILL MYSELF BECAUSE I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT YOU! PLEASE, JUST KILL ME AND GET IT OVER WITH!"

'NO!" 

"It'll be okay." Hermione sighed. "It'll all be okay."

"Hermione, I won't be killing you. Stop."

"I love you." Hermione said before she revealed Lucius's wand that he never took back, and shot a curse at the man behind Draco. He fell on his knees, freeing Draco, who rushed to Hermione's side and hugged her.

Lucius took that moment of intimacy and used it to his advantage, snatching the wand out of her fingers. 

"AVADA KEDAVR-"

"FATHER NO!" 

Draco jumped in front of Hermione before the jet of green could hit her, and he fell to the floor, lifeless.

"NO NO NO NO...DRACO PLEASE- NO! WHAT DID YOU DO?" Hermione began crying hysterically as Lucius froze in shock.

Hermione wiped her tears, fury evident in her eyes. "CRUCIO." she yelled, and Lucius snak to the floor, his body twitching and screaming out in pain. "Ho- How did you- d- do that wi- without a- wand?" Lucius breathed out.

"I really, really meant it." she enunciated.
