LYNA'S POV
I packed my things, putting my needs before my wants. That was how it was in Borealis, putting everyone before yourself.
Back on Earth, everyone seemed to care for themselves.
Talia snapped me out of my trance. I jumped out of my skin when she called me.
"Lyna, I'm going to call Izira, do you want to tag along?" she asked me, holding a cordless crystal phone in her hand. I enthusiastically nodded.
Izira was my favorite person in the entire world. SHe taught Carissa and me how to fight, and the world was totally better with her in it.
I skipped as I followed Talia into the next room. Carissa followed behind, less loudly than she usually was. I stepped back to follow her.
"Carissa, are you alright?" I asked her, pity stained in my voice.
"No." she snapped, and I took a few steps back.
"Sorry," she apologized, "I'm just... thinking."
I smirked, and fell in line behind Talia, who entered the parlor.
The dial tone of the crystal phone was loud and surprising. Carissa jumped out of her thought bubble, while a small tremor exhumed throughout my body.
"Izira!" Talia shouted into the phone.
Murmurs came through Talia's phone.
"No, Iris isn't here." Talia said unsurely.
More mutters came through the phone as Talia's smile turned into a frown.
"I told you," she rubbed her forehead, "not to give anyone your amulet unless they have proof that me or mom/dad actually said it!"
Softer mutters exited from the phone, and the world was immediately quiet. Talia frustratedly handed the phone over to me, and I anxiously put it to my ear.
"Talia? Hello?" Izira asked.
"It's me, Lyna." I answered
"Oh, Lyna, my star pupil!" her voice sounded cheery, but she was hiding something.
"Izira, what are you hiding?" I whispered, anxious.
I could hear a large sigh on the other side of the phone, and gingerly started to explain.
"Iris stopped by the Palace, and asked for my Medallion, and I was suspicious at first, but I gave it to her after her said that Auriana caused the Blast, you know, the one that makes everyone age quickly." I heard another long sigh over the phone and wanted to get her mind off of it.
I pulled a gray strand out of my teal ones and stared at it.
"Have you tried cutting it?" I asked, searching for remedies.
"Yes," she whined, "it just jumps to another strand."
"What about the purification spell?" I proposed.
"Already tried that. Seems like nothing works."
We went back and forth for an antidote, but nothing seems to work.
"What if you combine all of them?" I suggested. I almost heard her eyes light up.
"So, what do I do?" she implored.
"Grab scissors. Mix the purification spell, and the color spell. Dip the scissors into the mix!" I exuberantly announced.
"Right!" she rushed off, and I heard the phone clatter to the floor.
