Iris POV

"Hey!" I looked back, Carissa was standing there, on the ledge of the window. I hesitated, wanting to go back and abduct her but, I flew off, beyond anyone's reach.

The decoy I had placed in the practice room would be perfect, as Talia would never be able to figure it out.

My feelings were jumbled up, and I decided to lock my heart away.

"Crystal Lockum." I muttered. A tiny, magenta-colored spherum appeared in front of me, and I nodded. It passed through me, and I gasped in shock.

The color drained from my hands, and my usual rosy complexion dissipated.

My heart was really gone. Leaping onto one of the roofs of an Ephedian house, I transformed. There were no more tears. There would be no more pain.

Developing a black sphere, I held it in my hand and threw it down to the roof as I leaped off. Staring up at the stars, the house exploded. I winced as the sound pierced my ears. Several children scoured the streets, begging for food. My stone heart softened, and I threw down several coins. They cheered, and blessed me, running home to their parents.

I gave them a somber grin, and flicked another black sphere into the ground, just barely missing the girl with the golden hair.

She ran down to one of the smaller houses, to a woman with short red hair, reminding me of Ellira. I turned away. Her face was kind, and she embraced the child with loving arms. The tiny girl waved at me, and unsure of what to do, I waved back. She grinned.

I shrugged the warm feeling off, and turned away. I created a large, black sphere, small enough so it wouldn't reach their house, but large enough so they would destroy anyone else's.

As soon as I let it go, the town cracked. It began to all apart, a magenta crystal spreading over those who tried to escape. I looked over, their faces frozen in horror. THe woman and the child exited out of the house, and the woman looked up at me in horror. The child tugged on her sleeve, and they went inside.

The world was quiet, and several fires were set ablaze. Turning back into my civilian form, I pretended to be a concerned teenage girl looking for a place to stay. I turned around, a creepily serene smile spreading across my face.

"Madam? Please?" I turned around, to see a little boy, his left leg covered in crystal. He stumbled, and fell in front of me. I bent down.

"What happened?" I asked, innocence clouding my tone. I mustered a crystal penetrator, and destroyed the crystal that hung onto his leg.

"Lady-" he muttered.

"Again?"

"Lady destroyed our homes." he weeped.

I cradled him, my warm body enveloping his.

"Don't worry." I comforted him.

"There won't be anymore suffering."
