"Well, that settles it. Stacey will be our lead singer for the band..at least, for one night at The House of Blues." Greg started to say, rolling up the sleeves of his baggy shirt.

"Greg, are you kidding?'' Clara said, rolling her eyes. "She can barely stand up. She had another panic attack with her asthma again." Clara explained.

"I'm really worried about her." Addison added.

"Yeah, me too." Clara agreed, quickly.

"Well, it's her or somebody else because our lead singer, Linda, is still sick." Greg explained.

"Oh, dear. Well, if Stacey wants to do it, then she can." Clara said with a shrug.

"There's cherry blossoms coming out of the trees." Addison said, changing the subject. "They're one of Stacey's favourites, other than carnations." She added.

"Well, there's something great about summer. This time of year brings cheer to everyone, and it's almost the end of junior year. Thank goodness." Addison clarified. They were excited for the dance.

"They've done a great job with the dance, decorations, DJ and everything..." Clara added.

"So, is Stacey going to sing or what?'' Greg asked, not forgetting about their deal.

"Is that all you care about?'' Clara demanded.

"No, however, I'm being a realist." Greg stated.

"No, you're being a complete and utter--" Clara sighed, yelling.

"Don't say that word, Clara!" Addison said, yelling herself.

"You're outside where young kids can hear you." Raymond added, walking up to them.

"Are you guys going to visit our friend,Stacey? Remember her, nice girl with brown hair?'' Raymond questioned everyone, a bit tired of the arguing.

    "Yes, of course." Clara said.

    "Let's go, then." Addison said.

"Yes, before the sun goes down." Raymond checked his watch.

"It's a quarter to nine." Raymond added.

"Hurry up! I'll drive..." Clara noted.

Everyone crowded inside Clara's car and they all drove away to the hospital.

 -----------------------------------------

"What's that smell?'' Stacey said weakly. "They're another bouquet of carnations, I hope." She added, a bit jokingly.

"Ray, Clara, Addison..." Stacey expressed her feelings of delight with a nod and a smile. She was as white as a ghost and still not quite ready to sing lead yet.

"I really want to sing lead, however, I'm too weak to." Stacey responded to everyone, fighting her throbbing head and lungs.

"Are you really gonna give up just like that?'' Raymond said.

"Hell, no..."  Stacey said, battling for her life.

"So, we sent your demo to Greg, he loved it, and he's signalled for you to sing at the House of Blues...this Sunday." Raymond explained.

"I don't think she'll be well enough for that quite yet. You're asking her to sing, however ,she can barely breathe." The nurse explained, sadly, coming in from the next room.

"Visiting hours are over..."  The nurse said ,nicely.

"Okay, thank you." Raymond said, nodding. "We'll be back tomorrow, Stacey..."

"Don't die, Stacey. You're more than loved and we want you to know how wonderful and strong you are." Clara whispered.

"Clara, come on." Addison said, turning around.

"Thank you, everyone." Stacey replied ,weakly.

"Why would you have agreed to sing like that when Stacey is still sick, Raymond?'' Clara said ,a little angrily.

"I don't think I would've if I had known, okay?'' Raymond said, defensively.

 "Calm down, Clara." Addison said.

"I can't help it.I'm worried about her." Clara explained,  full of shock and surprise. Dismayed, they all left the hospital...
