You were flopped on one of the beds in the dorms, the door had a plate with your name on it, so you naturally assumed it was your room. You stared at the ceiling while Tsumugi stood cowering in the corner.

"Come on, I'm just kidding around!... Uh, you're not seriously considering it, are you?" You raised your eyebrows as you sat on the bed, facing her.

"Get real, Y/N! You shouldn't joke about that..." The blue haired girl meekly turned away as you rolled off the bed to join her.

You sighed, sensing she was uncomfortable. "Fine. I'm sorry, okay? I'm still a bit worried, though. I mean where the hell even are we?"

Tsumugi turned around and opened her mouth before a shrill voice slashed through the calm of the room.

"The Ultimate Academy for Gifted Juveniles!"

"Y-You!" Tsumugi squeaked.

"Y-Y-Y-Y-You! That's right, the one and only: Monokuma!" The robotic bear from earlier flashed a sly grin, you held your breath - something about him was so unpredictable, and that freaked you out more than anything. "And I'm glad to see the pair of ya chummin it up! Unless I've stumbled in on an ambush, in that case, don't let me stop ya! Or maybe I've walked in on a different kind of ambush... And in that case, I ought to punish the two of you for being such sluts on the first day here!"

Your eyes widened in half offense and half amusement as Tsumugi waved her hands wildly. "It's nothing like that!" She exclaimed as her face turned a deep red.

"If you say so... That being said, I might have to let you guys in on a little secret: Although it'd be entertaining as hell, two perpetrators will not be permitted a duo graduation. It's either you or her - whoever deals the lethal blow. Same goes for a double kill, the first body to be discovered is the only one that counts, so if ya snooze, ya lose! That'll be all, keep on killing you crazy kids!" And with that, the bear seemed to disappear into a hatch built into the tiles, the idea of a passageway being under your room didn't offer much comfort, not that you dwelled on the concept anyway.

"Sheesh, is that thing weird or what?"

"Totally." Tsumugi agreed, "and I thought the guys from the conventions were creepy..."

You both decided to head back to the library, hoping to meet and befriend some of the others. Inside, you saw Kaede and Shuichi rummaging through one of the bookshelves, Rantaro sat at the table beside them, resting his head on his hand and observing them idly. They all turned their attention to the pair of you entering, Kaede offering a smile before turning back to the bookshelf. You took a seat opposite Rantaro and Tsumugi sat beside you.

"Find anything interesting?" You asked as you sat down, Kaede sighed and gave up with her searching.

"Nope, but we did find this." She unenthusiastically pulled a small, coloured bottle from her pocket. Nail varnish. What the hell was that even doing in a library. "Wanna do each other's nails?" Rantaro seemed to perk up at the idea, and Tsumugi's eyes darted to the bottle.
