Percy and Raphael left to go to the party and I stayed behind for a while. The plan was to make everyone think that I wasn't going so that no one would think that it was me with Lottie. I had no idea what I was going to say to Lottie or what I was going to do but, Ellie and Alia told me they would help me out. I'd already gotten this far so I guess I couldn't back out.
I got dressed and headed to the gym. When I got there I spotted Alia on the stage and went over to her. The song ignite was playing.
"Hey, how are you feeling?" She asked.
"Well, I feel sick and my head hurts," I replied.
"Yeah, liking someone can do that to you. Don't worry though the feeling goes away when you're actually with the person." She put her hand on my shoulder.
She was wearing a light green dress and her hair was in a long braid with flowers in it.
"Okay, I've been looking around and it should be easy to find Lottie because she's the only one in yellow." Ellie put her hand on my shoulder. "Lottie is over there at the table next to the photo booth. She's on her phone. Go ask her to dance!"
I went over to her table. She was wearing a yellow dress covered in flowers and a pink mask.

I went up to her and tapped her shoulder. She looked up from her phone and gave me a little smile which immediately relaxed me.
"Hey, do you want to dance with me?" I asked.
"Sure." I put my hand out and she put her hand in mine.
I looked to Alia, she gave me a thumbs up and changed the song.
She put her hand on my shoulder and I held her waist.

"By the way, thanks for saving me. Edmund was about to come over and dance with me. I really hate that guy." She said smiling.
"Anytime." I thought to myself how true that was, how I would always save her.
"Here's a little secret... I hate him too." I winked at her and she giggled.
"What's your name?" She asked.
"Umm... you can call me Mystery Man." I wasn't going to blow my cover yet.
Lottie laughed, "Okay, you can call me Lottie."
When the song was over I took her hand.
"Come with me," I said.
"Where are we going?" She asked.
"How about anywhere?" She looked at me in confusion.
I took her outside, and we just walked side by side and talked the whole time.
When she was cold I put my arm around her and we talked about everything. She avoided talking about being a princess and Ellie to not give away being a portman. But with her, I felt like I could tell her anything. We sat down on a bench in the rose garden. I took a breath, not believing what I was about to do.
"Close your eyes and don't open them until I tell you to," I told her.
"What? Why?"
"Just trust me."
"Okay, I trust you."
I took off my mask and leaned in to kiss her. I was so surprised when she kissed me back. I slowly pulled away and put my mask back on.
"Okay, you can open your eyes now."
She opened her eyes and hugged me. She let go and frowned.
"I have to go now." She turned her head to the gym.
"What happened?"
"I just have to make sure a friend is okay."
I smiled, "That's just the great friend and amazing person you are."
She stood up to walk away but then turned around and kissed me.
"Who knows maybe I'll see you again Mystery Man." She turned around and walked away.
