Chapter 12

JUNO POV

"*Bang* kill *bang* me *bang* nowwwwww *bang*" I kept slamming my forehead against the concrete wall of our cell as I tried to come up with a plan on how we could escape this hell hole.

"Just take a nap. It's 1 AM anyways and we have school in a couple hours..." Venus complained to me as she laid on the only bed in the cell.

We had been here for I don't know how long but they served us dinner.

(More like a gross stale-bread grilled cheese sandwich with weird cloudy water.)

I was about to talk back when we heard someone walking our way and talking well, more like yelling.

"It's because I'm black isn't it." We heard someone yell.

"I'll have you know I have GREAT lawyers."

Someone was thrown into our cell when the yelled out "ACAB BITCHES"

They turned around with a smirk as they looked at us.

"Hey roomies! I'm Karrinna, pronounced Kah-Ree-Nah but if you wanna get fancy, it's Ka-Rree-naa" she said this time rolling her rr's.

"What are your names?"

We stared at each other before looking back at her and responding.

"I'm Juno but you can call me Junie or whatever!" I smiled at her.

She smiled back as she turned to Venus.

"Venus."

I looked at her and gave her a harsh glare.

"Fine, fine sorry mom. Hi there, I'm Venus! It's lovely to meet you on this cold winter night." she elongated her vowels as Karrinna, and I stared at her before looking at each other and bursting out laughing.

"I'm sorry about her," I wiped tears away as I started to explain, "she's not that friendly at first but she's a softy at heart trust me."

"Nah don't worry, in my school, or the demon spawn point as I like to call it, has people a lot worse."

"Oh yeah? What school do you go to?" I asked as Karrinna and I took a seat on the floor.

"Abramo Galena High school." She sighed as she fell backwards.

"That's sounds so familiar...we're going to..."

I tried to remember the school Gio told us about when Venus chimed in,

"We're going to Abramo Galena High school too."

"NO WAY. THAT'S THE SAME SUCK ASS SCHOOL I GO TOO." Karrinna screeched out again.

"YES THAT MEANS WE ALREADY MADE A FRIEND, we're friends right?" I said unsure.

"OF COARSE WE ARE!" She yelled again.

"Keep it down kids, I'm trying to sleep..." mumbled out Venus as she laid back down in the cell bed, waving her hand around signaling to keep it down.

Karrinna and I started conversing, this time both of us keeping our voices down for what felt like hours.

"Yeah, and then I sa-" I was cut short when a cop opened the cell door.

"Karrinna, your parents are here to pick you up."

"Aww no fun" she breathed out "alright well I'll see you tomorrow Juju."

She walked out of the cell as the police officer grabbed her arm and began walking out of the station.

I laughed to myself as I heard the new nickname, she said it "fit me" whatever that meant.

I checked the clock on the far wall outside of our cell and it said 4 AM.
