X. Exam start! .X

"....So this is the exam site...And this the crowd that it draws.." Leorio steps up from behind y/n. Who just moves away and looks at the building interested. Kurapika spoke up and added on to what he was saying.

"Applicants from all around the world would come and collect themselves here..." Both y/n and gon look at each other and hold up their fists, proving their determination.

"Our first shot at the hunter exam.." Y/n smiled as they looked at the fancy building but then was interrupted by the navigator from their thoughts.

"Hey, guys! Over here!..." The navigator waves and points at a shabby, run-down restaurant that clearly looked like a local shop that anyone with not a lot of money would go there. Everyone sweatdropped and dropped their smiles as they look back at the fancy building then at the shabby one.

"Please tell me you're joking....." Y/n mumbles as they lazily dragged their feet, walking over to the instructor. The others were still in shock and still hadn't moved.

"So...you're telling me...that the applicants come to this old thing?.. To take the exam?.." Leorio questioned, y/n looks over to the group and beckons them to follow.

"Yep! That's right!" The navigator watch as the group moves closer to the old building and he looks over to y/n to see their reaction and to see if they got the idea. Y/n held their chin and an imaginary lightbulb turns on in their head and they set a fist on their palm.

"Oh! All the applicants come here to take the exam, so they wouldn't expect it to be here in this old building. Right?" They spoke softly and smiled at gon.

The h/c-ette turned around and faced the group as they understood the concept.

Kurapika closed his eyes and crossed his arms while he thought about it before replying.

"Good point..."

Everyone would walk up to the small culinary store and open the doors to be greeted by the smell of pork katsudon.

There was an older man cooking, and he wasn't paying attention to them as they walked in and closed the door. "Hi, welcome take a seat."

Oil was cooking in the pan he was holding and he finally looked up to see leorio, kurapika, gon and y/n standing in the entrance with the navigator. "What can I get you?...."

"Can we get the steak combo that makes us see the light?.." The navigator responds. Y/n turned to him and looked confused at his response to the cook. What kind of person would say that while ordering a steak? See the light?...that's kinda odd to me. As y/n thought, they looked up and their eyes then aligned with the cook as he got serious with them.

"Oh...A combo for four...I see.....How do you you want it cooked?..."

"..Grilled slowly over a low flame till done please..." The navigator smartly remarked, lifting up a finger like an announcer.

The chef nods and points at the back. "See yourselves to the back room.."

Everyone then went to the back with the sound of trailing footsteps in the hall, gon and y/n were looking around their surroundings. They then entered a room with only a table and some seats, it oddly looked like a place where people would meet up to gamble their life away.

"Ok, wait here.." The blue-haired male bluntly states, almost walking out.

"Wait for what?...where are all the other applicants?.." Leorio asked holding his suitcase over his shoulder and looking around the small room.
