Everyone was outside, including the so-called 'Couple' and two kirikos. Gon stood beside y/n who looked at the floor and played with the hem of kurapika's bag.

{=Flashback= Kurapika's POV}

"Oh-! you're back!" their soft-voice ringed as y/n spoke up to kurapika, who only smiled at them.

"Well...Yeah, we figured it out." He glanced at y/n and his bag, he noticed their fidgeting and he wondered if his bag was a burden to them.

"I'm Sorry!-.." He apologized for leaving his stuff, but y/n only waved their hands in front of them and looked at him with a soft look.

"I-its fine!.. I took good care of it...And I didn't go through it......" They fiddled with it and looked at his feet which he took motion as adorable in his own opinion. He sighed and got y/n's attention, he closed his eyes and smiled.

"Well...If you want... You can continue carrying it?.. You seem to feel better when you fidget with the strands."

Y/n flinched and turned red, they covered their face and mumbled."You saw that...I'm so embarrassed....." He chuckled, as he had with one simple quote, brightened the mood.

"How long has it been since we were last told apart from each other?..." Said one of the kirikos, their tone seems to be a bit deeper.

"It's been so long!.. I'm delighted!" Replied the second kiriko. ((Lowkey thought about the man behind the slaughter when I typed that sentence))

Gon walked up to the testers, both Leorio and Kurapika whispered to each other about their appearance. Y/n smiled, holding on to their own backpack and kurapika's side bag, and walked forward by gon. He turned to the males behind him and looked at y/n who stood beside him.

"The kiriko that I and kurapika hit was the husband!" He pointed it out, while the others sweatdropped out of confusion.

"...So, which one was it?.." They gloomed in front of the two kirikos, but y/n paid close attention as they introduced themselves as the 'Navigators'. They were a family that is helping out with the exam, and the ones that were playing the victims were actually the children of the kirikos.

Y/n sighed and also started to become gloomy."...They also caught me by surprise...I didn't know.."

Gon smiled at y/n and patted their h/c hair gently, sending a twinge of jealousy towards kurapika. Apparently, the exam changes location each year, so that's why they were specifically hired to pick out among the hunters.

"Oh! I see!"

The pink-haired lady waved her hands and explained clearly. "Not everyone passes, first they have to pass our test before they are allowed to take part in the exam." She then also looked towards kurapika's way.

"Mr.Kurapika" Y/n perked up and looked at him.

Kurapika stiffened, and looked at the testers."Oh-..Yes?.."

"Even though we gave you guesses and didn't catch on, you were still able to guess correctly. You were also able to figure out the tattoo because in this area it means a vow to never marry. So you knew that we weren't a married couple, so that proves that Mr.Kurapika is very knowledgeable. Hence, he passes."

The group gasps and he sighs.

"Good job!" Both y/n and gon exclaimed."Mr.Leorio.."

He also flinched and straightened his posture. "I-i-uum yes?!"

"You never realized my identity until the end." Y/n held in their laugh a bit as he backed up, and they allowed the tester to continue.

"But you dressed my wounds like a professional...that includes apathy and kindness you have shown us." The testers smiled at leorio who pushed up his glasses, embarrassed but still taking in the compliments.

"Don't mention it...It's embarrassing.." Y/n smiled as they looked up to him.

"So, you pass."

He was surprised and he let out a relaxed sigh and dropped to the floor."Thank goodness.."

Gon gave him a fist bump, while y/n gave him a thumbs up and laughed a bit.

"Mr.Gon, you have outstanding athletic and observation skills that pass human skills...That goes for you 'miss' y/n" They flinched and gon held their hand, as they looked up from the ground to the lady.

"You deem worthy, so you pass." Gon smiled and bumped the group's fists while y/n stood nervously by the side and waited for their judgment which causes them to squeeze gon's hand. He squeezes back reassuringly while he faces away from them.

"Miss Y/n, as we said earlier. You have observant skills that surpass professional hunters...And you noticed a lot of details that the others didn't know..." Y/n was going to speak out and tell them they aren't a 'miss' but they went along with it and sighed.

"There may not be any explanation about you and how you knew, and origins......But..You Pass!" Y/n brightened up, and their legs gave out underneath them and gon caught them before they touched the ground.

"What a relief...." They shut their eyes and kurapika helped them up and y/n wrapped their arms around his neck, making him flustered and stiffening. They mumbled about being tired so kurapika agreed to help them, but the testers spoke up.

"We'll take you to the site ourselves!"
