I stopped trying to inhale and I closed my eyes and slumped back, pretending to have fallen under the spell of the smell.

But the piece of cloth wouldn’t go away and my lungs started to burn. No!

Beth bite into the hand that covered her face and he jerk back in surprise. The fresh air filled up her lungs the second it was away. I was up and running, kick dirt up to the princess, she screamed at her guards.

Beth tore up the forest running for her home, legs and arms pumping, my breathing fast and hot in the air.

Freedom only lasted a few minuets before one of the faster guards grabbed my arm from behind. Jerking me back.

I started screaming and kicking at him, but he kept moving to avoid my kicks.

“Just stop, it will be better for you if you just give in.” His voice was young and kind, I could tell he didn’t want to hurt me.

I turn to face him, his eyes were a light blue and his sandy blonde hair fell into them.

“What does she want with me?” I asked, holding back the fear I knew was inside me somewhere.

He looks down to where his hands incase my arm tightly, “I can’t tell you why....”

“Why?” I leaned forward, I had to get out of here and now, before the others caught up with us. I could already hear the shout and the stomps of the heavy men.

“I-I....” He looks at me, with something in his eyes I couldn’t tell what, his hands loosen there grip.

“Run! Run away from here! GO!” Then he is pushing and shoving me away from him.

“What-?” I started, in shock I didn’t register the fact that I was free, this solder I barley meet, has set me free.

But it was to late and I fell to the forest floor where something heavy lands on me.

“You got her, Jaden, now the queen will be pleased with us.” It was a man on top of me, pining me down but I couldn’t see, my face was turned to the ground, it was only dirt and trigs in my view.

Why does it seem that this has happen one to many times?

I heard the other men crashing thorough the trees to greet us, all shouting and laughing at me for being so much trouble to them and now they had me in the hands.

Jaden.... That’s his name...... It didn’t fit him well. I don’t know why. I mentally kick myself in the head. I don’t know why I care! Why do I?

He tried to safe me from what ever this princess had in mind.

“Looks like we are going to have to take more care of you. We wouldn’t want you dead before we want you to be, now would we?”

I almost screamed, she had no right taking me like this. But all to soon someone was putting a bag over my head and tying my hands behind my back.

My legs were burning with liquid fire from the assertion of the run to freedom. I stumbled blindly back the way I came from, all the guards around me. Guns pointing at me, jabbing at me if I made a wrong turn.

For a moment I was glad I had the bag over my head, at least no one could see my tears.

I had let myself down and my grandpa. What would happen to us now?
