I stayed in my little room for many days, taking my meals there as well. I packed a few lightweight books to read, I never had books in my home in the forest. Kate told me these were a few of her favorites.

I could tell why, there were realistic story of heroines, not fantasy and damsels. True love stories, one was were they fight to stay togeather, a baker girl fell for a gypsy man.

They told me that it would take up to two week for us to reach the land, I spent most of my time, other than reading, thinking about my life. Was that self-centered for me, to think of what's happen and what will happen to me?

"Beth?" I looked away from the window, Lisa was standing in the small doorway, "Would you like to come up to the deck?" I smiled and nodded, then followed her up the few steps to the deck. Sailors were rushing around the deck, I didn't understand there methods of running the ship.

The rest of the girls were standing by the pier looking out into the ocean, we walked over to them.

"Beth, it's so good to see you up and walking again."Mea teased, I smiled, it had been a while sense I have been out. The fresh sea air felt good on my skin, and refilled my lungs.

"How long till we reach land," I asked "do any of you know?" They all shock there heads no and I frown slightly, then looked to the distance.

"Are you in a hurry to reach your king?" I didn't look back to the instead looking farther.

"He isn't my king, all he is to me is a man I must marry..." I wish that I didn't have to though, I would be so much more happier staying home. They could tell enough to stop.

"What do you think it will be like there?" Asked Suzan behind me, speaking the thought that we have all thought of one time or another. None could answer this question though.

"I'm going to miss home even more when I see the difference." I said turning around again to face them in a circle around me. Each were in there own mind.

"This is just as unfair for all of you as it is for me." There looked up at me in question. "You didn't ask to follow me here, you know we aren't going to be allowed to go back home right?"

Careen followed her hands across her stomach and spoke for all, "We don't have any other life other then severing the royal family." Before it could click she went on, "We four are all orphans, are parents had us put into the castle as maids."

"Mea and my parents left us, their parents," Lisa said gesturing to Careen and Suzan. "died shortly after dropping them off." They never really knew there parents were, Kate never really knew her mother or her father and sister either.

"We seem to all be connected in the same way..." I said as an after thought, we all went to the pier again and looked out into the endless blue. We spent the rest of the evening standing there and talking of thinks that care to mind.

Some coughed to get our attention, I turned to see a large breaded man.

"Good day," His greeting was said in a deep voice, "your majes-"

"Bethany." I said automatically, refusing to be called anything other. "Please call me Bethany, sire." He nodded gruffly, the skin wrinkled at the corner of his eyes as he looked me once over.

"Bethany, I have estima'ed that we be reachen' the lands o' Damask 'morrow at noon." Beth smiled at the news, I couldn't wait to get my feet on solid ground again.

"What is your name sir?" Beth asked politely.

"Charles, but me sailors call me Cap'ain C. Ta name Charles tis fancy." I laughed and thanked him, then asked if there was anything I could do to help around.
