BANG. BOOM. The whole palace shook.  You sat up and shook Legolas' shoulder.  He opened his eyes very suddenly, "What's...." he started to ask but was cut off by another loud crash.  He jumped up off the bed and pulled you with him.  He had one arm protectively on your back as he pushed you towards your door.  After getting you to safety he ran back to the window to take a look at what was going on.

"Legolas get away from there!" you shouted over the loud bangs.  The fortress shook again and now pieces of the ceiling were starting to fall.  Legolas noticed this and came running back to you.  You quickly grabbed your bows and quivers from where they sat by the door.  You tossed Legolas his as he took the last few steps to your side.  Together you ran into the hallway.

Everyone was running.  You saw the militia running towards the main gate and Legolas moved to follow them, but you grabbed his arm.  "No, this way." you said and then pulled him up a long flight of stairs nearby.  He did not argue with you once, just followed your direction, he trusted you wholeheartedly.

You took many flights of stairs before reaching the very top of the castle.  You opened a latch and climbed out onto the roof.  Legolas pulled himself through right behind you while speaking. "(Y/N), why have your brought us to the roof?"

"To get a better view of what's going on," you responded matter-of-factly.  He smiled at you as you both took a few steps towards the edge and looked down.

You were horrified at what you saw, thousands of giant black spiders climbing every inch of the castle and the grounds.  These spiders had come here before, a long time ago.  There was a major battle here, you had lost your older brother to these creatures.  You were there watching when it happened, there was nothing you could do to help him and ever since that moment you have had a deathly fear of these spiders.

You breath caught in your throat as you imagined your brothers death in your head again.  Legolas knew how much this event haunted you and was holding your face in his hands trying to get you to calm down and breath.  Even through the tears in your eyes you knew what you had to do.  You caught your breath and immediately kissed Legolas with such passion.   You pulled away and took a few steps backwards.  "Today, I will avenge my brother." you stated.  Legolas looked at you in confusion but you only smiled at him before running and jumping off the edge of the roof.

You pulled out your sword mid-air and landed on the back of a large spider.  Killing it instantly but still using its body to cushion your fall.  Once on the ground you began shooting the spiders with your bow and arrow taking down any that were in your path.  You looked around and noticed that many of the spiders were retreating away from the castle, but a rather large one was coming towards you.

You reached back for another arrow and noticed that you had no more.  You quickly unsheathed your sword and charged the beast.  You were able to jump on its back and kill the evil creature, but with its last breath it threw you off with such force that you hit a nearby tree hard.  You have never felt pain this intense and the air was knocked from your lungs and you were sure there were already bruises forming.  You landed on the ground in a heap and struggled to make it back to your feet.

Although your vision was blurry you noticed the other warrior gathering around the main gate.  Despite the pain, you made it back to the gate where Legolas was frantically searching for you.  You locked eyes with him and he sighed in relief running to you and wrapping you in a tight hug.  You winced a little at the pain to which Legolas instantly let go and knew something was wrong.

"(Y/N) are you alright?" he asked concerned.

"Spider threw me, I am fine."  you responded although you were very not fine.  You were still dizzy and breathing was difficult, although you did not notice it before there was pain throughout your body, you probably had a few broken bones.

Legolas did not seem convinced but only gave you his arm to lean on before leading you back to the castle.  You were slow at walking as the pain increased, your legs gave out and you almost fell to the ground if Legolas hadn't caught you.

"(Y/N)!" He shouted.  He picked you up and carried you all the way to the medical chambers and laid you on a cot next to the nurse.

"What happened?" she asked as she already began her examination.

"Spider threw me and I hit a tree," you managed to explain.  She finished her examination rather quickly and began wrapping my injuries as she spoke.

"Well you have a sprained ankle, a cracked rib and a pretty severe concussion."  she began.  "I will wrap your ankle and ribs but rest is what you need to fully heal.  No duties and no strenuous activities for a week or so while you heal."  After nodding understanding she finished wrapping your ribs and sent you on your way.

Legolas helped you back to your room and laid down next to you carful not to put too much pressure on you.  You fell asleep almost instantly, you had a rough day, but there was no where you felt safer than in Legolas' arms.
