Past tense
Curly hair and dark eyes,
Light chocolate skin.
Despite your lies,
You were never thin.In the mirror,
You count your scars.
Your biggest fear;
You'll never be pretty, like the stars.Your scars stare at you again and again:
You did this to you.
You let your sadness win;
Look at what you put yourself through.You own a lovely smile,
One that makes the darkest light again.
We haven't seen it in awhile,
But I still remember back then.You're scared,
Your future is unplanned;
You're far from prepared:
Keep this up and watch where you land.You were beautiful and determined,
You let that go.
Your determination has been binned,
Now all you say is, "I don't know."You look in the mirror,
You keep question yourself the same thing,
"Why're you still here?
What importance do you even bring?"I need to know;
What happened to her?
Why'd you let the old you go?
weren't you happy with the beauty you were?--
This is about someone I'm really close to, I'm not sure how I feel about it though.
