Everything's Okay
She loves you,
You're her universe.
I love you too,
pretending I don't is something I rehearse.
You act like you understand,
But you don't even know.
From the first time you held my hand,
and the time I couldn't let go.
I know I don't compare,
She's perfect.
And me, I'm aware;
I'm not even worth it.
You smile at me like everything's okay,
And I smile back as I pretend it is.
Maybe things are better this way,
Maybe I don't deserve this.
But when I look at you,
I always forget who I am,
Best friend was the best I could do,
And I know it's my fault I'm in this jam.
