Ally pov

The five of us walk into the mafia house together. Antonio is standing in the entryway, texting on his phone. He's got a grin on his face.
"Who are you talking to?" I ask, teasingly.
He looks up, just noticing that we had walked in. "Just someone from class. We have an assignment together."
Angelo and Leandro look at each other with raised eyebrows. At least I'm not the only one questioning this.
"We should get up to the meeting room," Angelo says. He starts for the stairs and the rest of us follow behind him. On the second floor, we go into a meeting room. Around the table are the men who agreed not to kill us when we were first brought here. Angelo goes and sits by Meatball with Leandro and Antonio next to him. Morgan and I end up in chairs next to Antonio.
"Why are we here with the high ups?" Morgan leans over and asks Antonio.
"Because Angelo has taken you in. Most people we bring in aren't working directly with us. You are though, so you get some more information than the others," he explains. We nod in understanding and turn our attention to Meatball, who has stood up to call attention to the room.
"You all know the situation with the Irishman. They won't pay up, so we're going to make them. Angelo, Leandro, and Antonio have began working on the beginnings of a plan. We will go over it and decide if we are going to go through with it or not today. If we do, we will start preparations in the next few days." He sits and nods to Angelo to start.
Angelo stands up and walks over to a wall covered by a sheet. He pulls down the sheet and starts talking.
"You all know that the Irishmen have a large leading family. Of that family, there are three sons, waiting to take over." He points to a picture of a man. "The heir," he points to another, "the spare," he points to the last photo, hung slightly lower than the others, "and Kyle."
Why is he familiar? I look over at Morgan to see that she has the same look of confusion on her face. Angelo is about to move on when it hits us. We look at each other and make eye contact.
"Fucking Kyle!" We yell.
"Ladies?" Angelo asks.
Morgan looks back at him and explains, "He's dating one of our best friends. We just met him last night."
Leandro grins. "This gives us an in. You know Kyle, you can get into their gang and figure things out."
"That brings us to the actual plan," Angelo says. "We want to infiltrate their main base. Wherever their leaders are most likely to stay, that's where we need to be. We're going to hit them where it hurts most, then destroy everything they've worked for. That brings us back to the sons. There are three of them, trained to take over the gang and bring it back to power. So, we need to get rid of them."
Antonio leans and rests his hands on the table. "We're going to kill them, and take over everything they have. We'll be the most respected and feared gang on this side of the country."

Later that night, after a vote to go through with the plan, we've ended up back at my dorm. Morgan kicks her shoes off and hops onto my bed.
"We're going to have to try to get closer to Kyle-" I start to say.
Morgan interrupts me, "Where is your roommate?"
"Oh I've seen her all of like three times ever. I think her name is Clara? Sara? Something with an 'Ara', I don't know."
Morgan looks over at her side of the room where my roommate should have her stuff. I see her look at the box labeled 'pillows'. "Does that..."
"No, I already looked." I had joined a gang, stealing pillows was not something I was going to feel bad about. "Anyway, we're going to have to get close to Kyle. Then you know, assist in his murder."
Morgan pales a bit. "Ally, I know we joined a gang, but I don't know if I'm ready to kill someone. Drug deals was one thing, but murder? I don't know."
"Well there's really no turning back now. We're already in this, so we have to do it."
"I know. It's just giving me a bit of anxiety," she says. I look down at her hands. She's holding onto the leg that she's pulled up to her chest. Her knuckles are white from grabbing so hard.
"Dude, it's going to be ok. We're going to help kill someone who has probably done worse things. We know our guys are good people, so we don't have to worry about them. Kyle, or his brothers? We don't know them, but we're probably helping someone by getting rid of them." I'm not the best at comforting people, but I tried. She had loosened her grip on her leg a little bit, but she was still worried.
"I know. I just don't want to have to pull the trigger." As she finished talking, we both got a text from Angelo. We grab our phones and open the message.
