Jessica's POV
Steve and Lukas both dove for the stone on its pedestal, carved out of marble with beautifully engraved figures on it.
Despite Lukas's abnormal speed, Steve reached it first, his large calloused hands grabbing it in a flash of light.
When the light faded, Lukas was standing in front of the mural in the middle, far away from Steve.
The mural showed a girl with orange hair holding a blue sapphire, with medical herbs growing about her. I suspected that this was Mom, but I would have to ask later.
In Lukas's hands was the beautiful opal, reflecting a rainbow of colors onto the walls and his face.
"YOU?!" spat Steve, glaring toward Lukas. "YOU ARE THE NEW STONE HOLDER?!"
Lukas stood still, staring down at the stone as it glimmered in the moonlight peeking in through the skylight.
Dad quietly said, "The stone chooses based on the heart of a person..."
No one's POV
Steve whirled to look at Herobrine, glaring so fiercely that he could have killed the white-eyed legend.
"And?! I want that Stone to bring back Alexandria!" Turning to Lukas, he shouted, "Boy! Ask the stone to give me back my Alexandria, like she was!"
Lukas continued staring down, as if not hearing the shouting directed at him.
Jessica, still slightly weak and leaning into Lily, said, "Are you crazy?! That could cause a time loop!"
"So?!" yelled Steve, whirling toward the others, Jesse hiding Petra behind him in a protective stance.
"If you make a time loop, all of this will be for nothing! No matter what you do, Alexandria will always marry someone else!" Herobrine cried, looking at Steve in pity.
Lukas's POV
I stared down at the stone, seeing all the previous holders in my mind's eye. I could distantly hear yelling coming from the others like I was in a cave, close yet so far.
Then the stone whispered to me as the last StoneHolder, Jessica's mother, faded away.
I've been waiting for you. What do you wish for?
Lukas felt his heart getting tugged in two different directions.
Wish for Steve to vanish from existence
Wish for Steve to only remember Alexandria as his old friend
