"Your children?" gasped Jessica, staring wide-eyed at the man.

"Yes, Jessica. You and Jesse are my lost children. I lost you two during a fire at our village." Steve said, tenderly, adding, "A fire that Herobrine started."

Petra said, "I didn't know Jesse and Jessica had a father."

Maya walked in, and looked about in confusion, holding another ice block. "Did I... Interrupt something...?"

Steve shook his head, saying, "No, miss, you didn't. I was just telling them that Jesse and Jessica are my children, and I need to ask them something."

Jessica said, " We can talk outside, if you want."

Lukas smiled his normal smile and said, "I'll be here, guys. Go and talk."

Lukas's POV

Even as I watched the others leave, chatting with Steve, I felt something was... Off.

Maya, walking up to take the ice block off to check my ankle, said shortly, "You felt it, too?"

"Felt what?"

"That Steve's hiding something..."

"What do you mean? I think that something is going to happen."

Maya looked up from his ankle to stare at Lukas, then shook her head.

"Lukas, we have become like siblings when we were a group with Aiden and Gill, and I only say this as the truth; You're way too trusting."

"Well, what does you want me to do?"

Maya looked him, with a face that he couldn't read and said, removing the ice block,

"Go with them. Keep an eye on them." With those last words, Maya left him with the wind gently rustling the tent.

As he thought, Lukas got carefully up to see if his ankle hurt anymore. It still stung a little, but it wasn't as painful as before.

Too trusting? Maya actually thought he trusted too easily?

He grimanced as he began walking about the tent. His mind wandered to the days of the admin when he mistook Romeo for Jessica.

Maybe he should do as Maya suggested. He grinned.

He missed going on adventures with the others.

Later that night

Petra's POV

I carefully filled my backpack with food, and supplies.

"Diamond sword, cooked steak, armor..." I muttered, placing Miss Butter on my back.

Jessica had suggested bringing a diamond sword, and Miss Butter could be used for emergencies.

I was thankful that Jesse had grabbed Ms. Butter from the fire, my golden sword was a trove of memories of all of our adventures.

After filling up my bag, I slung it over my shoulder and walked out of the hall to the stable, where the others were waiting.

Lukas was there, also. I was surprised to see him saddeling a horse.

"Lukas is tagging along." Said Jessie, calmly attaching her bag to the white mare that she had claimed.

Lukas grinned at me, his bag attached to his brown steed.

Steve came in, leading a speckeled gray horse, and said, "Is everyone ready? Jessica, Jesse?"

"We're ready, Father." Jesse said, swinging up on his deep auburn horse.

He reached a hand out to pull me up behind him, his dark green forest smiling at me. Keeping eye contact with him, I gripped his hand and swung up.

"Let's go. Olivia and Axel promised to keep an eye on Beacontown." Jesse said, picking up the reins, the horse snorting and shaking his head.

The horses clopped out of the stable, and we began following a path toward the west.

I grinned. I missed having adventures like a group.
