{ Chapter Eight }

Marinette P.O.V [ WHAAAAT? ]

"Come on Alya. Just this one time. "

" We can't trust Chloe, Marinette. Even before miracle queen. It's too risky. "

"Alya, you're acting like she's a serial killer. She was manipulated into akumatization . She's just a schoolyard bully who went a bit overboard. People who are akumatized act WAY more harshly than they normally would. Plus, it's just this once. " 

" ... "

"Alya, are you there?"

"Okay, fine. But only for you. I still don't trust Chloe. Or Lila's cousin."

"Thanks, Alya."

"I'm at the couffaine houseboat .I'll tell Kitty section and nino. They all believe you. You just need to tell adrien . 

"Oh, ok. Again Thank you Alya! You're the best." 

" Don't tell me what i already know, bestie! Anyway, Bye!"

"Bye!"

Usually, the fact that she needed to call adrien would make her day. But now she'd gotten over her unhealthy obsession over adrien. She'd realized she barely even knew him. Then she got to know the real adrien, And found he was more like chat noir than the perfect version all of paris thought he was like. To be honest, she liked his true self more now. 

Anyway, i was glad Chloe didn't hear that conversation. Knowing her, she'd storm off not help at all, even though this was HER idea...

Chloe P.O.V - 

Okay, don't argue. Obviously i HAD to listen to the conversation. C'mon. Did you expect me not to? I walked back to our table and calmly sat down.

"They were trash talking us weren't they?"

"Well, alya was."

"Huh. Who even cares. All i told you to do was get more macaroons." She complained. "Oh, shut up." I shot back "Information about who's coming and what they think about us."

"You." she looked at me " What they think about YOU. You don't care about me. I'm just the one that provides information. That's what you think of me." 

silence.

I didn't know what to say. I wasn't good at letting people in. This sudden outburst was, well.. sudden. I didn't care about what they thought about skylar. It's not like they'd be be mean to her or ignore her like they did to chloe. She just wanted to see what they thought about her, because she didn't want to be in yet ANOTHER abusive setting. Was THIS what the others felt like at school when she bullied them? What was wrong with her?

She shook the thoughts out of her head. " I'm sorry. I'll go get your macaroons.. "

Skylar looked mad, but less mad than before. She sighed. " I'm sorry too.. I guess. "

Chloe walked to Marinette , sulking . The only person who at least tolerated her presence, was now mad at her. But skylar didn't have anything to worry about. She didn't have abusive parents, she could probably get friends if she wanted and her life was probably easy. It was CHLOE'S LIFE that was supposed to be easy.

"Yeah, i know.. but it's only this one time."

Adrien, from the other line, muttered something about manipulation.

"We'll restrain her... Lila's more dangerous."

Adrien said something that chloe couldn't make out.

" Let's face it adrien, she doesn't have power anymore. No one likes her anymore."

I mean, was she wrong?

"God, Dupian-Chrng. Tell him to get here fast. we SERIOUSLY don't have time for this. I'll leave you and your stupid group alone after this, okay? I just want revenge." Marinette looked startled "also, skylar wants extra macaroons. I'll pay."

"Okay guys, listen up!" marinette who had changed from her normal clothes to some pink overalls on a white shirt. Chloe was surprised at how bossy she could be. She and the others sat in her surprisingly comfy room, on some bean bags. In front of them, marinette stood next to a whiteboard on the wall. "This is operation bust lila! The plan is, we'll make a list of lila's lies then do some research to prove her wrong. I already made a list of her lies. She handed the list to them. " luka, juleka, rose and adrien, or other wise , the gays, will work on the first couple of lies. " She looked at her list " Ivan, mylene, alya and nino are handling the second batch of lies" She looked at us  "and Chloe, Skylar and I will handle the last ones."
