Jennifer woke up at 6 am. The children are still sleeping since they usually wake up at 8 am. Jennifer woke up with cold feet; she was excited about the trip today. She slowly gets up from her recent slumber and puts her feet on the floor, connected to her morning flip-flops; she gets out of bed and walks to the door, and goes to the kitchen to make some breakfasts.
"Hmm, since today is a special day, what should I make?" thought Jennifer.
*yawns* "how about spaghetti.." thought Jennifer with the craving for pasta.
She then boils the pasta, smelling the steam that comes out of the pot; next, she cuts the vegetables, onions, garlic, and tomato. She then makes tomato sauce. She was now putting the vegetables in a pan.
"mmm, smells so good!" said Jennifer.
She then adds the tomato sauce, making the smell more glorious; she adds salt, pepper, and ketchup, next; She adds the delicious spaghetti pasta.
"It's perfect." thought Jennifer.
The children are now awake because of the smell of the hot-delicious pasta.
"race you to the kitchen!" said Liam.
The boys got out of their room and ran to the kitchen, making massive stomps that woke up the family.
*yawns* "good morning Olivia," said Amelia, "beautiful weather today, isn't it?"
"yes, I suppose it is," replied Olivia.
The girls then got up and processed to go to the kitchen.
"Mum, what are you cooking?" asked the girls
"I'm cooking spaghetti, come, sit down!" said Jennifer
The pleasant mood was interrupted by loud running noises caused by the boys.
"I won!" said Liam, sweating.
"nuh-uh!"
"oh, c'mon boys, don't run in the hallway," said Jennifer
"boys are weird," whispered Olivia.
"true."
The family went to the eating table, and the children helped arrange the dishes and silverware. They all sat down, hungry for a plate of spaghetti.
The family ate all the Spaghetti very fast, making a little bit of mess on the table.
After breakfast, the children helped to clean the dishes, throwing soap and water at each other, making more mess on the floor.
"ah! stop throwing water at us!" said the girls. "you're making more mess!"
"oh, sorry."
After they finished cleaning the kitchen of their mess, they took their finest clothes and took a shower. When they were done, the kids went to the dense forest to explore for a while, trying not to get their clothes dirty.
"Hmm, Imagine if the forests of the alien planet look like Earths, but greener," said Oliver.
"that would be cool; we could explore," said Amelia.
"Imagine if the leaves were square and the animals there would be squished," said Olivia in a sarcastic tone.
The children laughed and laughed till they can't breathe when they went farther into the forest, they can't help but notice that the forest was all green, full of butterflies and animals.. then out of nowhere, something interrupted the vibe of the woods.
(ring, ring, ring!)
It was Amelia's phone, Jennifer was calling the children.
"Guys, where are you?" said Jennifer on the phone
"oh, we are just in the dense forest next to our house."
"well, you better come home now. we are going to NASA in 1 hour."
"aw, man," said Liam.
"come on, guys, let's go home; mom and dad are waiting for us."
And just like that, the children went home.
When they got home, they were surprised to find four bags, with their names, inside were some stuff that they need not be bored in space.
"look, guys! I already packed your bags so you can enjoy the ride!" said Greggory.
"Thanks, dad!" said the kids.
"Alright, guys, go to the car. We need to go to NASA as early as possible," said Jennifer.
The family quickly prepares and brings out the notes, documents, and luggage. They all then sped up to the car and drove to the NASA headquarters, excited to board the Skylar spaceship.
"Dad, what's space like?" asked Oliver.
"Oh, it's dark and empty, but the stars make up bright lights that make space more beautiful. Plus, it's cool to be weightless and float around."
The children giggled.
"Dad, do you think that's there's life in these planets?" said Liam, showing some pictures of planets in the Xoras Galaxy.
"yes, even if they are tiny microbes."
right after Liam asked that question, they see a vast 525 feet building, white and grey walls, and a logo that says "N A S A."
They knew that they have arrived at the NASA headquarters.
"that's a big building," said Olivia.
They parked their car and got out; they immediately see the red carpet and proceed to walk on it. When they entered the building, they were surprised to see the blinding lights of flashing cameras, and a lot, and I mean a lot of people surrounding the red carpet.
"Mom, the lights hurt my eyes, ouch," said Amelia covering her eyes.
"I know, honey, don't worry."
They all approached and stood on the stage, with a microphone in front of them.
"The first question, please," said Jennifer.
"miss! are you sure you are going to find life in the Xoras Galaxy?"
"yes, we might find life in one of the planets in the galaxy. Our scientist have discovered that there are planets in these solar systems that can potentially hold life, this.. this discovery will change how humanity looks at space," said Jennifer while showing a presentation on the giant board.
"miss, are you sure that the Skylar spaceship can survive for a very long journey?"
"yes, uh, it is specifically built to survive for 100 years in space."
The audience applauds.
"miss, are you going to show the photos that you will take in the future?"
"yes, of course."
After the ask and speech, they went into the rooms where they will put their spacesuits.
"excuse me, will there be extra spacesuits on the ship?" asked Jennifer to the person helping them put their spacesuits on.
"yes, they will be located in your rooms. There will be ten exact space suits incase you damage this one."
"Thanks."
"Mummy, how am I going to drink tea inside this helmet?" asked Amelia.
*giggles* "don't worry, honey, we will take your space helmet off when we are in space."
"oh, oki."
They got out of the rooms, again, blasted with blinding lights of the flashing camera.
"This picture will be famous!" said a random lady.
And suddenly, a door opened... It was the Skylar ship. There they were, the Skylar in front of them; they just continued staring... Amazed by the beauty.
"Dad, I'm scared," said Amelia.
"It's ok, honey, we will protect you."
The Nelson Family walked forward, slowly. They reached the stair, looking at the bright inside of the magnificent beast.. and finally entered the ship.
"wow, it's so bright and blue," said Liam
"it looks like the future."
"This is the future," said Greggory
And just like that, the door closed. The family took one last breath of Earth's air.
"Are you all sitting on your seats?" said the speakers.
"confirm, yes," said Greggory.
"starting countdown."
"ten"
"Are you all ready?"
"yes, om," said Liam.
"nine"
"I want to tell you guys that when the rocket goes pass through the atmosphere, you might feel a little bit sick."
"eight"
"ooo I feel sick already," said Olivia.
"me too," said Oliver.
"seven"
"I just want to say I will miss our home," said Amelia.
"six"
"I'm scared now, help," said Liam sarcastically
"five"
"here we go!" said Jennifer.
"four"
"three"
"I love you guys," said Oliver.
"two"
"one"
"BLAST OFF!"
I will probably do chapter 4 tomorrow or the day after tomorrow or next week, depending I'm free or not. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the chapter!
