I bounce all over the place when I hit this black net. Inside I'm laughing at myself for truly believing that I may fall to my death.

A hand tugs at my blue jacket and pulls me out of the net. It startled me just a little.

"An Erudite? Well, I wasn't expecting to see a know-it-all jump first." The Dauntless man says surprised but also in a jokingly way. I realign my clothes since I'm not sure what to reply with.

"What's your name, Initiate?" The man asks. I shouldn't tell him my last name, it would draw too much attention among everyone here.

"I'm Jen." He smiles.

"Welcome to Dauntless, Jen." Here I am, at Dauntless.

Tobias joins the crowd of people that have just jumped. He is currently trying to catch his breath from the fear.

"Dauntless-born's follow me. I assume you don't need a tour of the place." A woman says mockingly, and every Dauntless-born follows her.

Now the Dauntless-born's have cleared, it is clear they are not many transfers. There are 5 from Candor, 1 from Amity, 2 from Erudite including me and 1 from Abnegation. That's 9 transfer initiates. I thought there was more of us.

"Listen up transfers! My names Amar and I will be your instructor during the initiation process." In a way, Amar seems quite cheerful compared to some of the Dauntless. I've always thought that Dauntless were quite stern and always serious. Maybe I was wrong.

Amar signals for us all to follow him so we do. He takes us around a series of dimly lit hallways that are made out of stone. Dauntless focus's on practicality. As long as you can survive here, it is all well and good for the Dauntless.

We arrive out in this pit type of area. Needless to say, it's amazing to look at. It definitely reflects on the fact that the Dauntless are able to survive.

"Here's an area we like to call the pit. Us Dauntless spend a lot of time here." I can just about hear Amar over the loud cries and laughs coming from the pit.

I walk to the edge of the walkway and loom over the pit.

Members of Dauntless are just pouring in and out, having conversations with whom they wish to speak to. For the first time in my life, the room is loud unlike back at Erudite where everyone would quite or having a conversation about experiments or investigations.

Fellow initiates mumble and have their eyes wide open.

"Come on, we don't have all day!" Amar shouts and we all start to briskly walk again.

I pick a bed that was in the very far corner of the dormitory, away from most people. There are a few spare beds since they anticipated there would be more of us.

Tobias chose a bed that is just opposite me. I noticed that Eric chose a bed 2 meters away from him which should be more than interesting.

On my bed, there was some Dauntless initiation clothes, as well as a toothbrush, hairbrush and toothpaste. Typical things for surviving. Well, maybe not the hairbrush...

I scan the room where everyone begins to change. There is no sperate area so we all have to change in the same room. I'm the only female initiate in here so I feel uncomfortable.

Ignoring how I feel, I pick up the Dauntless trousers and slip them on before removing my Erudite skirt. As quick as I can I throw off my Erudite blazer, as well as my shirt and slip on a Dauntless shirt.

Then I see Eric stare at me as he removes his shirt. He notices me looking over.

"Keep your eyes to yourself, Matthews!" He jokes and smirks. The whole room falls into laughter.

I fold my Erudite clothes fueled with anger towards him. Before coming back at him, I tuck them away underneath right against the corner where no one can find them. Tobias seems to have done the same but I don't call him up on it.

"Maybe if you were kind enough to not observe me, I would have never stared at you in the first place." I retort back at Eric and he smirks once again.

With that, I grab my dauntless jacket before me and Tobias leave the dormitory whilst everyone finishes getting changed and head over to the pit where Amar told us to meet afterwards.
