TW - MENTIONS OF HARM, BLOOD DESCRIPTION AND FAINTING!!
Tori injects the tattoo ink into the patch.
"Do you think your brother ever found other people like him?" I ask Tory who is focusing her attention on the fluorescent glow of the tattoo ink.
The ink finishes making its way to the patch design and Tori removes the tubing before tearing the patch away from my skin. I wince a little and wait for a response as she disposes of the tattoo supplies.
She takes a stool and sits down next to me.
"A part of me likes to think that he did, but, this is Dauntless. They can sniff Divergents out like there is no tomorrow." she starts explaining to me.
"So, no. I don't think my brother ever did. Does that answer your question, Six?" Tory nervously answers me whilst I look into her eyes with a nervous look. Twisting my body to the right, I sit up on the edge of the chair. Tory sits next to me.
"Is there something you want to tell me?" Tory reaches for my hand. I swiftly pull away from her grasp. I readjust my jacket as I stand up from the chair.
"No. Thanks for the tattoo but I have to go." I pull a weak smile before heading to the door.

I rotate the faucet to bring the water to a halt after washing my face. My hands reach for the hand towel tucked next to the sink, bringing it to my face and gently patting it dry.
Shortly afterwards, I return to my small but minimal room and tuck myself into bed for the rest of the evening. I glare at the ceiling with a blank look on my face, hoping to find some reassurance, but of course, there is none to be found. Sighing, I accept that fact and lay down on my side and get comfy. Tossing and turning in my bed for a while eventually sends me into a deep sleep.
I hear a phone ringing from my mother's home office.
"Jeanine Matthews speaking."
I remember this phone conversation. This was the night before I took the test.
"Manually entered? Are you sure?"
Is she talking about the aptitude test?
"Well, we will have to investigate why there has been an increase in manually entered results after the choosing ceremony."
She knows about us. How there are more of us now.
"Yes. Have the lab team meet me in the HQ office the week after so we can diagnose the issue."
My mother is planning something. Something dangerous.
I gasp for air as I spring from my bed to sit up. I leave my bed and walk over to the kitchen to grab myself a glass of water.
My body shakes violently. I rest my left arm on my counter to hold myself up whilst the other holds onto the glass of water I got myself. The glass I'm holding in my hand is moving so much that the water inside of it spills over the sides of the glass and lands onto the counter top. Eventually, the glass reaches its fate there too, causing the shards of glass to pierce at my skin on my other arm. I wince.
It's not too long before blood begins pouring out, leaving red almost everywhere in sight. I start to feel faint as I reach for my phone knowing this isn't going to go down too well.
I press a few buttons before dialing.
"Six, it's 4am, what could you want-" I see black around the edge of my eyesight, so I cut them off to get straight to the point.
"I need your help. I'm at my place." I manage to force myself to say before giving into the pain that my body was desperately trying to get me to do. I collapse and everything disappears in front of me.
