The Origin of the World

*Adam POV*

I'm sleeping, as it's the middle of the night. Being in some weird place with white walls when someone calls my name

???: "Adam..." I look around for the source "Adam..."

Adam: "Where am I? Is this some sort of limbo? Am I dead? Oww, I thought that the head injury wasn't serious" Then I hear a giggle

???: "You're not dead Adam. It's me, Maya" Maya appears before my eyes in a white long dress

Adam: "Oh. Well, any reason to haunt my dreams?"

Maya: "The reason is in your very arms right now"

Adam: "Eva..."

Maya: "She is so determined to bring me back, she doesn't see what's in front of her"

Adam: "If you're talking about Don then I don't see a reason. He forgot about her for ten years, he left her alone, make her feel unloved"

Maya: "Both you and I know what he did was horrible. But he regrets this. After... My demise from this world he started drinking, he hit the ocean bottom. He couldn't take care of Eva"

Adam: "Yeah, the same depressed alcoholic started the biggest racing company in the world. I and Eva saw him on TV, we got our dorm full of his posters and cut-outs from magazines and newspapers. If he couldn't take care of Eva then, then why can he now?"

Maya: "That's something you two have to learn from him. I only ask you to try to convince Eva to talk with him"

Adam: "I tried, she didn't listen"

Maya: "Hmm. I thought that you can make her. When you two were little she always tried to act like you" I get shocked

Adam: "What...? When we were little?"

Maya: "Oh, your parents didn't tell you? You and Eva know each other since the crib"

Adam: "Wha..."

Maya: "You two always played together. And Eva always tried to do something you did. You two were inseparable" She chuckles "One time I and Don had to get back home from visiting your parents. I went to pick up Eva, but she started crying, not wanting to leave. We stayed until you two fell asleep"

Adam: "And how can neither of us remember this?"

Maya: "Adam, you were one year old and Eva was only seven months old. Your parents moved to the other side of the city and we didn't have much time to meet up. It's still good your paths have crossed. I and your mom were hoping you two marry each other" I blush "Hubert used to bother Don with it on every occasion" she smiles "It's still nice to see me and Anna were right about you two. Please, try to convince Eva to give Don a chance. Now that he knows, he will try to be a better parent. I promise"

Adam: "And if not?"

Maya: "He will don't you worry. I'm leaving them under your care. Try to help them both. If you want my advice, remember, I'm always here"

Adam: "Actually, how can I start the topic with Don?" Maya smiles

Maya: "Ask him about our date on our anniversary. If he asks why then I know you will find some reason, you're a smart boy so I'm counting on you"

Adam: "*sigh* I don't have a choice, do I?"

Maya: "You choose to fall in love with Eva. You should know how that would end" she smirks "See you soon, Adam"

Adam: "See ya Maya" I saluted and Maya disappeared. A while later I wake up feeling a tugging on my leg

Eva: "Come on, Adam. Get your lazy butt up. We have a race to win, remember?"
