I had been watching the clock closely all day long, waiting for the time I would get to take Isabella to the mall. She would be more beautiful than she already was. I had been planning it. Since we would only have a few hours before the basketball game would start, I had almost every detail thought out. There was even a hairdresser in the mall! Isabella would be able to get a haircut that was beautiful for her face! I was squirming in my seat until the finally bell. The ringing was sweet in my ears and I dashed out the door. I found Isabella right outside waiting for me.

"Hi?" she asked, confused at why I was smiling so widely.

"Hello! Come on, let's walk you home," I said happily and interlocked my arm with hers. I practically dragged her to the small, blue house she inhabited.

Isabella laughed as we reached her doorstep, "You've never seen my house before, I have to warn you that it's pretty messy. My brother's not exactly what you would call a neat freak..."

I walked into the living room and there were socks all over the place. There was a pile of old plates on the coffee table. I shook my head slowly. It seems just like a brother to be so messy...

"What's your brother's name?" I asked and looked on the floor. Crumbs were scattered all over the place.

"Blake."

"Blake?" I asked. I didn't know about more than one Blake in our small town.

"You know him," Isabella pushed things out of the way so she could get to her room. "Blake Meyer?"

My eyes almost popped out of my head, "Blake Meyer's your brother? But you two have two different last names! And... and... you're in the same grade!"

"I skipped a grade, remember? We're only half siblings. We have different dads so he has his dad's last name, and I have my dad's last name. It makes sense to me," she opened the door to a pink wall-papered room. It was neat, unlike the rest of the house. There wasn't much in it other than a bed, a dresser, and a closet.

"Blake's your brother?" I'd had my first crush on her brother?! That is just plain weird. Now I was in his house... I mean, their house.

"Yes..." she said slowly.

"Your brother?" It wouldn't register...

"Anyway," Isabella said quickly, "Is this where we're going to hang out until we can go to the mall?"

"Why are we waiting anyway?" I asked. We still had a few hours until the game. Without waiting for an answer, I grabbed ahold of her wrist and pulled her out the door.

Isabella dragged behind me, "We could get a ride from my mom!" She called as if I couldn't hear. I was in my own little world. We could walk to the mall somewhat quickly, but running always got us there faster. Who needs a car?

The first place we headed was the hair salon in the mall. We were lucky that they had no appointments. She sat in the chair and stared blankly at the mirror while I told the lady to cut her hair into whatever would look best with her beautiful face. Isabella's face was sheet white. I smiled reassuring at her, but she didn't even look my way. The lady began snipping.

After her haircut, Isabella was already looking like a babe. She had side bangs and layered hair that softened her features. She smiled at me. "I'm glad you didn't let me talk to her or I would have never had my hair cut like this."

"No problem," I said and paid the barber as Isabella played with her hair.

We went throughout the store for some sales and I grabbed skinny jeans, skirts, blue jeans, plaid shorts, v-necks, blouses, 3/4 sleeves, long cut, baby doll shirts, and any other thing I could find and shoved Isabella into the dressing room. By the time we left, we put our money together to buy four new outfits. I didn't care how much it cost. I was just glad she was finally going to show off that figure.

"Let's get you home so you can change for the big basketball game," I said, carrying two bags. Isabella was carrying the other two.

"You think guys will really look at me the way they look at you?" she asked in a small voice.

"Look at me? They look at me?" I'd never really noticed if they did. I was way too revolved around Eli to notice any of the other guys.

"Yeah, my brother liked you for a while. You couldn't tell by how he looked at you?" Isabella asked with confusion coating the question.

"No... I never noticed," my neck was getting hot and I was sure I was turning red.

Isabella laughed, "You're going out with Eli now. Don't worry about it. So... how's that going, anyway?"

"We hung out at school like the other couples, but that was about it," I told her, readjusting the bags' handles in my hands. Clothes were quite heavy.

We walked up to her stairs and I ran into her bedroom. I threw a few clothes at her and told her to get changed. There was only a few minutes until the basketball game would start. She put together her outfit and brushed her hair and we were off.

Walking into that gym and seeing all the guys turn their heads at Isabella was a great feeling. She turned red. She was wearing a babydoll shirt with 3/4 sleeves. It was a light blue other than the ribbon under her bust was dark blue, giving her curves. Her dark blue jeans made her calves and thighs look just as they should. Her cute, white Etnies looked just fine as well, but I was sure no guys would notice her feet.

"It worked," she whispered. I wasn't sure if she was telling herself, or telling me. "It actually worked."

She sat beside me while we watched the game. I continued to look behind her at all the boys who were watching her. She was trying not to notice, but I was sure Isabella loved it. This was the attention she never had, but always wanted. I'd given it to her. I felt accomplished and proud of both her and me.

After the game, she followed closely at my heels while I went to congratulate Eli. He smiled at me, his hair damp with sweat, his cheeks flushed from the work. He panted but I thought it was hot. He smiled at me as I stepped closer to me. Eli held out his arms for a hug but I looked at them warily. I don't like sweaty arms. He noticed this and laughed.

"I'll give you a hug after I take a shower, how's that?" he asked.

"That's perfect," I murmured and his arms dropped to his sides. "Great job, by the way. I saw that you made almost half of the points."

"Too bad no one else saw that," Eli said and motioned towards Isabella who was looking behind her and some guys waving. Eli laughed. "She really polished up nicely. Just wait. A lot of guys will be asking her out soon."

"I'm sure they will," I nodded. Isabella turned around to face us and smiled shyly.

"It worked," she squeaked again.

Eli looked me in the eyes, "Am I at least allowed to get a kiss from you?"

"As long as only our lips touch," I laughed. We leaned towards each other, necks extending forward, bodies extending backwards. I'm sure it looked as awkward as it felt, but it was just fine with me.

The End.
