Maya, Emily, and I had to leave Adri with the girls once they went down a narrow alley. There would be no way we could all go unnoticed by the other girls. Instead, we went back to my house and hid up in my room, waiting for Adri to come back with the news.
"Do you think she found out where Eli lives?" I asked anxiously to no one in particular. "Do you think she found out where that idiot sleeps?"
"They're going on a hot guy hunt. I bet that Eli's house is the first place they went. Besides, you're the one that told us before that this was going to work. If it doesn't, it's your fault," Emily said. Despite that last comment, her voice was highly optomistic.
"Thanks..." I said, not sure what my emotion should be. I was still hurt from before and I was excited to do this prank, but I was nervous that none of it would work. I groaned and fell backwards, expecting to hit my pillows. I had backed up to far and hit my head on the wall instead. I put a hand to my scalp. "Ow..."
This was a situation when they would laugh. It didn't happen. They were watching the clock: 10:53. We still had about 13 hours until this day would end. We needed her back as soon as possible so Operation Spider would kick its butt in gear. Right as I was about to give up hope (30 seconds later), a frantic knock on my door startled all of us.
"Come in!" the three of us yelled together.
Adri came rushing in with her cheeks as red as Rudoph's nose. Her panting hinted that she'd done quite a bit of running. When she fell flat on her face on the floor, we just looked at her and waited. Adri was a bit of a drama queen. She looked up, blonde hair in her face and panted. We were still waiting.
"Yes?" she asked with fake innocence.
"What happened? Did they go to his house? Where does he live? Start talking, woman!" I yelled. Probably half of the neighborhood had heard that last sentence. I smiled at the thought.
"Slow down, calm down, quiet down," Adri held up her hand. Ha. As if that would stop me. "Yes, I now know where he lives. He was outside mowing the lawn with his shirt off." Adri's eyes half closed, "Those chisled abs... those defined arms... that perfectly molded back!"
"Adri!" Maya and Emily yelled. They didn't want to hear anymore of that. I was too busy picturing him in my head. I swallowed all the spit that I was gathering in my mouth. No time for drooling.
"Now... we start off with 'A', right?" Emily asked. She looked at our sheet of paper.
"What other way would we start? D?" I asked sarcastically. We had put them in order so we could scare him throughout the day.
"Okay, I found out that he takes a shower after he's done mowing the lawn. So for part A, we'll have to do it soon," Adri whispered like someone would overhear.
"How much of the lawn did he have left?" Emily asked.
"He was only done with about a quarter of it," Adri shrugged.
"And how long ago did you see him?" I asked anxiously. This would be worthless to us if it had been a long time...
"Just a few minutes."
"YES!"
I grabbed onto Revenge's pet carrier and ran out the door without checking to see if the others were following. I was almost at the door when I realized something. I turned around to face Adri who was just coming down the stairs. "Where does he live?"
"At the corner of Ellison Way and George's Lane," she said with a smile bigger than her head.
"Hm." I didn't know he'd live in such a small neighborhood. I began to wonder if he thought it was weird with all of those girls standing outside of his yard watching him push around a lawnmower in this heat. Then again, he most likely didn't notice it anymore with all of the attention he always gets... With all of the attention he doesn't deserve!
