IT WAS THE NEXT DAY AT SCHOOL, Friday. The day that you've been impatiently waiting for all week has finally come. Class started as usual, but Suna was nowhere to be found.
You remembered he had important news to tell you and that this could be the cause of his absence, worry settled in your consciousness until you heard frantic knocking on the door.
The teacher open the door and welcomed him in. He handed the teacher a tardy slip and turned to your direction, showing off the biggest smile you've ever seen him wear. Butterflies swarmed in your stomach.
You watched him as he got to his desk, tearing out a piece of paper from his notebook and jotting something down. It wasn't long until you felt an expected tap on your shoulder, receiving the note you observed Suna writing just a minute ago. Can you bring some movies?
You looked towards Suna's direction, letting out a harsh huff of air through a smile when you seen his wide eyes already staring back at you in eagerness. You frantically nodded your head, wondering what he could be planning.
It was going to be a good day and you couldn't wait to see what he had prepared for you. It felt like school dragged on for days when it was really just six hours. The excitement of Suna's news was overwhelming you with joy and you wished time would hurry up and fast forward.
You and Suna had lunch together, though it was much quieter than usual. Both of you were adrift in your own thoughts. You wondered what it could be that he planned and sat there relishing your happy state, while Suna on the other hand was overthinking and questioning if you would even like it.

Once school ended, you walked home, just happier than normal, visible by the slight skip in your walk. That was until you got into your home. You heard a loud, muffled conversation taking place in your grandma's room, but you couldn't make out what was being said.
You could recognize your grandma's voice, but not who the other voice belonged to. It did sound familiar though, it was deep and somewhat young sounding, definitely a man. You opened the door, curious about the bickering going on in there. "Grandma? What's wrong?"
"Nothing baby, look!" You whipped your head over to where she pointed at. The man you heard just a few seconds ago turned around and you immediately recognized him.
"Dad? Why are you here? Where's Grandpa?"
You and your dad didn't really have a relationship, every once in a great while he'd visit Japan when your mom was still alive, only to see you for a couple days then leave. He was originally meant to take custody over you but problems about being able to move to the U.S. shortly delayed this process from happening, so your grandma took you in.
"Grandpa's sick right now and I didn't want you to get sick so I called your dad." Your grandma said as she bent down to your level, putting her hands on your shoulders.
"Won't you get sick Grandma?"
"No, I'll be okay." She said with a small, sad smile. She noticed your eyes flutter to the objects that were sitting just behind her.
You saw brown suitcases next to your dad on the floor, which contrasted against the white carpet. There's too many there. Your dad noticed your eyes flicker to the suitcases and spoke up. "(Y/N), you will be living with me from now on."
Your head felt dizzy and your heart sank as you remembered your promise to Suna. "Wait- but- Grandma I have to meet Rin at dinner time! Remember? Can I still go?! It's super important I promised h-"
"No (Y/N). Our flight leaves in an hour and it takes 30 minutes just to get there, we have to go now." Your dad interrupted.
Tears quickly filled your eyes. "But Rin!" You said looking down. "I CANT MISS IT! ITS TOO IMPORTANT!" By this time you were crying hysterically, your words came out in a jumble and were barely comprehensible. Against your will, your dad picked you up and walked towards the front door, kicking it open.
As you kicked, screamed and cried trying to pry yourself out of his grip to run to the pond, he quickly opened the car door and threw you in the backseat, locking the doors in the process with the button on his car keys.
Your grandma was watching from the front door, unable to do anything. Tears trickled out from her eyes as she felt sympathy towards you. It broke her heart that you couldn't make it to the pond today, you've been talking nonstop about Suna's secret surprise for you the whole week. Her heart broke even more for Suna.
Despite your constant pleas and overflowing tears, your dad drowned your sobs out with music on the radio. Not only were you leaving the country, you were leaving the three most important people in your life. The worst part being, that you broke your promise to Suna.
