ITS BEEN FIVE WHOLE YEARS SINCE YOU'VE LAST SEEN SUNA. You guys were now 16 and on opposite sides of the world. The only thing that connected you both, were your memories.
Adjusting to life in America was difficult, being that you couldn't speak English and also had to adapt into your dad's new family. You eventually got the hang of things, although your English was a bit broken only after being here for 6 months, it was still really great progress for being as young as you were.
As time went on, you got older, and your English became more developed, you started making friends. This even surprised you, you thought Suna would be your one and only friend for the rest of your life, and you liked having that belief when you were young.
During the years that passed, your physical appearance grew with your age. You gained quite the male and sometimes female attention in middle and high school. Your physical appearance did a whole 180 a couple years after moving.
But you remained the same, you knew if Suna could be with you right now he'd want you to be happy. He would never tell you that, but through actions and subtle words that came out of his mouth, you knew that's all he ever wanted for you. And it was all you ever wanted for him too.
Life in the U.S. was actually pretty good, you felt free there from leaving all of your problems and past back in Japan, literally becoming a new person.
You'd never want to live there again but if you could, it would only be for Suna. Although he is a part of your past, he's the only part of Japan that made you happy and you missed him. He will always hold a special place in your heart, he's the only one who knew of your mom's passing, which meant a lot to you, and you were the only one who even got to see who he was as a person.
You never forgot him and wanted to go back to your hometown in hopes of finding him again. You always wondered what he wanted to tell you the day you moved. You missed that little pond that held hundreds of memories— the pond that held your childhood.
You and Suna were now polar opposites. If people met you two the way you guys are now, they would never have thought you guys shared a bond as close as you did.
On the other hand, Suna completely shut down. He graduated from elementary and middle school, he eventually got into the volleyball team, then entered high school, all without you and without anyone for a matter of fact. The dreams you both once shared were now being achieved alone.
He didn't care for talking to people or making friends. His peers dubbed him as the quiet fox. He only spoke when he needed to and looked mysterious in a way, but it was also very attractive, like a fox, hence the school mascot.
He gained attention from girls in middle school who found him attractive and his quiet personality intriguing, especially because he was really good on the court. His now grown out, fluffy hair even furthered his resemblance to a fox. His personality and looks did a whole 180 too.
Would you guys even recognize each other?
Even though it's been five years and you both have experienced so much more during this time, every Friday and Saturday, you both would find yourselves thinking about each other, tossing and turning at night wondering what each other were doing at this moment.
On these nights you'd walk outside, stargazing, smiling every time a memory of your guy's time spent together would make its way into your head. Unknown to you, Suna who was across the world, would do the same. But only to get you off of his mind.
Only the stars knew what you both were thinking these two nights out of the whole week.
