YOU RELUCTANTLY OPENED YOUR EYES and slapped the alarm clock that rang through your room. It's already 5? You rubbed your eyes and stretched a bit, making your way to the bathroom to prepare a shower.
The water was warm and welcoming as it splashed on your body, it was then that it hit you that you're leaving again. Hot tears flowed out of your eyes without consent, blending in with the water spraying out of the shower head and descending down the drain. You turned the faucet off and changed into your clothes, getting ready to leave.
*HONK HONK*
Hearing your dads honking only made you want to take your sweet time but you quickly grabbed your luggage and ran downstairs then outside. Your dad was waiting for you in the car, tapping his finger on the steering wheel. You entered and you guys were ready to go.
"Here's your passport."
"Thanks." You said while examining it. Haven't seen one of these in years. "Hyogo?" You questioned out loud, still staring at the paper. Damn maybe I won't get to see Rin then. "I thought grandma lived in Tokyo."
"She did, but she moved when your grandpa passed."
"Huh? He passed? When?"
"About a month after you moved here, he had cancer." You were shocked at this new revelation. How come no one told me sooner? As if your dad could read your mind, he answered the question in your head.
"Grandma didn't want you to know til later because she figured you were already going through too much at your age."
"Oh." Was all you could muster out, it hurt but you didn't want to cry again today, you felt drained.
"That reminds me, here." He handed you a piece of paper and started up the car. "It's your grandmas address, don't lose it."
"Okay, I won't. Thanks." You said as you stuffed the folded up piece of paper in the pocket of your sweats. He continued on his way to the airport. Since it was about a two hour drive just to get there you decided to take a nap.

"(Y/N) wake up, we're here." Your dad said as he repeatedly tapped your shoulder and carried out your luggage for you. You sat down in the airport waiting for your flight to be called.
It was only about 15 minutes that you had to wait until it was announced from the intercom. You took your luggage from your dad and was about to walk over to check out until he stopped you. "(Y/N)." He called out. "Hm?"
"I love you, bye."
You smiled at your dads words, he hardly ever said that. He opened his arms and engulfed you in a hug. "I'm sorry I never really talked to you but I want you to know that I really do love you, your mom would be proud of the person you are today, stay safe alright?"
"Thank you dad, and I will." You smiled and kissed his cheek. As you went on your way to leave, you turned around one last time and waved at him he waved back and you left, wiping a tear going down your cheek. Your second cry of the day. That's all you've ever wanted to hear from him.
You excitedly too your place on the plane when you saw that you got a window seat and had an empty seat right next to you all for yourself. The last time you got on a plane, some old guy would snore while sleeping and lean his head on your shoulder, occasionally drooling. You grimaced at the memory, happy to replace it with this new one.
Hyogo here I come.
