The Mysteries of the House- Flicker

Part 8: Guess it's time...

Mary's POV:

 "The murderer has killed Chidi. He was stabbed  multiple times in the stomach and all his fingers were cut off. The investigator believes Mila is evil. Get on with your world-famous discussions!" Damn, this is the sixth night, and our eleventh death. After what Chidi did for us last night, finding the assasin, we can't let his death to go waste! Also, what's with the missing fingers? I see that they were placed on the piano keys, all facing the same direction. I have no idea what made the murderer decide that would be a fun thing to do with a freaking dead body that they murdered five seconds ago, but they do them, I guess. They're probably going insane from all the other random shit going on.

 I look over and see Adanna sobbing uncontrollably. I never had to deal with lose of a close family member before this, but since Adanna and Chidi were siblings, I feel bad for her. Rosalie goes over to her and lightly puts her hand on her shoulders. "Hey, hey now, don't cry! It'll be ok!" Adanna keeps crying. Damn, Rosalie actually looks pretty lovely. If we got out of here together, I would love- No, why am I thinking like that in a time like this? We're in a killing game for God's sake! 

I decide to read Chidi's journal. "I'm a survivor. I'll try to keep useful info in here. Night 1: Dashawn was killed. Nikolai is offending my sense of style. K voted him. Woah, wasn't expecting such a horrible execution. Night 2: Somebody tried to kill Adanna. Thank God she's ok. Oh God Lara died. Jordan is sus, I voted her. She got executed. Night 3: Now Colleen's gone, I voted Viola  and Seungho was executed but we know Melodie, Thomas and Albert are safe now. Night 4: Bailey and Melodie are dead now. Voted Mateo and he's executed but idk what he was. Night 5: Ally was attacked but saved and Jean-Claude is dead but he was evil. Also Mateo turned out to be clown omg I just realized Alec is the assassin gotta tell everybody good we were correct. I think it's Omar and I bet the murderer will kill me now. Good luck Adanna please live for me." 

Me and Marley both decide to get the hell out of that room, that's a pretty gory scene. I couldn't even bring myself to look at Lara's body for more than one second. Then everybody exists and watches Adanna have a mental breakdown, which is kinda awkward. I go over to Rosalie and decide to chat with her. "Hi Rosalie, how ya doing?" She seems a bit sad right now. I'm about to excuse myself when Nikolai comes. " What a bunch of fucking lesbians." He mutters. I'm about to say something, when Kiryomi sprints up to us and smacks him. It's kinda funny how Nikolai also got hit when Dashawn died. Alicia begins kicking him repeatedly, and Minji is beating him with a pillow.

Suddenly we hear shouting. We rush back into the room with the body and Adanna is screaming at Omar. "YOU! I KNOW IT'S YOU!" What's gotten into her? Dan comes. "Wait, why's it Omar?" Adanna continues shouting. "CHIDI SAID IT WAS YOU BEFORE HE DIED DON'T LIE TO ME! NOT ONLY DID HE SAY IT IN HIS JOURNAL HE TOLD ME PERSONALLY BEFORE HIS DEMISE OF WAS YOU! YOU WERE PROBABLY LISTENING TO OUR CONVERSATION YOU LITTLE -" She runs away out of anger. 

 We all stand there in shock. Has Adanna really gone crazy? I agree with her point but... She's probably overcome by grief, I'm sure she will get over it soon. We all decide not to talk about this. Instead we separate and try to talk together. We watch Cash try to do some stand-up comedy routine, and Joshua messes around with random kitchen tools. I think we all feel a little bit better after this, since these are such dark times. I really wish things would stop. We are all innocent people, but we are being forced to either kill each other or cast the votes that condemn others to their death. It's a horrible reality, and I'm losing hope that anybody will help us. 

Like always the mastermind announces that it is time for us to vote. They act like this is so much fun to watch everybody die over and over again, but what do they really gain from this? And what power do they truly hold? Is there a way to stop them from bringing total despair to the world? Will we ever escape this never ending nightmare of  a killing game? While these thoughts flood my mind, I vote for Viola. She's acting quieter than usual. The speaker makes the dreaded announcement that I'm sick of hearing nowadays. 

 "Omar had the most votes." Well, looks like Adanna was successfully able to get her point across to the rest of us. I can't say I'm that happy, but as I watch Omar get taken to his execution, I wonder, why are we here anyways? After Omar is executed, his eyes and teeth drop down. Cactus reads the journal that comes with them.

 "I'm the spy. Veronica was visited by Minji. Adanna was visited by Dan and - The witch didn't let me see who attacked her, damnit. Anyways Dan showed me his role, he's the medic. Albert was visited by Seungho. Minji was visited by Jean-Claude. Nobody visited Jojo. Mila was visited by Cody." Veronica gasps. "That means-" but Minji cuts her off. "But if Dan is the medic, he's going to die! What will we do without our medic?" Strangely, the lights go out quite fast this time. Which sucks, because I want to know what Veronica was so concerned about. I hope she doesn't die.

I hear sounds of struggle throughout the night, but when they turn on, I don't hear any screams. Me and some others find Dan, a bit roughed up. "Looks like they forgot I could use my self heal. I won't be able to save myself next time, sadly. Glad I could stay one more night, though." I feel happy, but suddenly I hear a noise. It's like some sort of swinging, swaying noise. I go downstairs and realize it's coming from the laundry room. I peek inside, but all I see is Lara's body, not the source of the sound. I don't know why I'm so scared, as the assassin and clown already killed. I'm about to leave and continue my search, but then I remember. There's a closet in the laundry room. I know there can't be really anything bad, but I'd like to stop whatever's making that noise, it puts me so on edge! Then I look inside -

The light cord in the closet.

It's what's causing so much noise.

And hanging from that cord...

Adanna.

She killed herself...
