"She's under good care. We're checking to see the cause of this. Don't worry sweetie, We're doing the best we can. I promise." A nurse told Brooke.
"Ok, thank you." Brooke replied before the nurse walked out of Nona's room at the hospital.
"You ok, Brooke?" Sam asked her placing her hand on Brooke's shoulder.
"I'll be alright" Brooke said fighting back the visions distracting her.
"Alright.. I'm gonna go to the restroom, I'll be right back." Sam said before leaving the room.
It was the day before Christmas Eve. Brooke was feeling horrible. Above the pain from visions and her worry for her plans of reinventing herself, she could be losing her grandmother.
She was even more worried for Colly. She knew if she told her, she would cry. Thankfully, she was asleep when they brought Nona. Brooke felt that this was it. She cried as she could feel Nona's soul wanting to leave. She sensed her soul's presence in a beautiful light forming in front of her. She could almost touch it.
As Nona laid there asleep, Brooke saw her insides. She could feel her still breathing as her heart began slowing down. Brooke held Nona's hand before closing her eyes to see.
She saw Nona through a white light.
"Baby," she told her as she walked closer to her.
"It's not your fault. You're a wonderful girl.. and you're beautiful," Nona said smiling as she held Brooke's hand.
"Please, never give up, my angel. You're here for a reason... go find it. You're strong, beautiful, and you can do this. Never forget that, baby" she continued with a smile as she hugged Brooke.
"Nona, please.. don't leave us, don't leave me" Brooke begged her after they hugged.
"Take good care of Colly for me sweetie, I know you're the best person to raise her. I love you both, so much."
Brooke cried as Nona started to walk towards the light.
"Please stay" Brooke said fighting through the tears.
"I will always be with you, I love you." Nona said before walking away into the light.
Brooke opened her eyes.
The sound of a long beep faded through her mind as she couldn't control her tears from falling any longer. She fell to her knees, breaking down in tears by her bedside.
She felt destroyed.
The wind blew through Brooke's hair, gently blowing away tears from her face. She stood out on the balcony of her apartment. She stared down at the cars and people rushing around below her. The visions have stopped, for now.
"I drawd dis for her" Colly told Sam, both sitting at the dining room table of Brooke's apartment.
"That is beautiful, Colly. She loves it, can you feel her smiling?" Sam replied.
Colly looked down in confusion before saying
"Yehhs... ah feel you no-na! I luv you" She said while closing her eyes.
"She loves you too, Colly." Sam told her as she got up to hug her.
"Samy, does Nona know im sorry?"
"Yes sweetie, of course she knows. What are you sorry for?" Sam asked.
"I cawld her fillyshuh. An mean Nona. An uh liddle mor words in my hed."
