"What kind of person would do this. What could possibly be their excuse?" Brooke asked Nona angrily.
"I knew something wasn't right. I shouldn't have left her with that idiotic little piece of..."
"Shh, you'll wake her. She needs her rest" a nurse stopped Brooke.
"Honey, it's not your fault. It's not her fault either. If you wanna play the blame game, it's David you ought to point fingers at." Nona told her.
"I know which finger I'd use to point at him." Brooke thought to herself.
"Sweetheart, I know you're upset. But look at her; she's fine now.. and that's all that matters. This could've been so much worse."
"But he's still out there. Not only did he get away with this, now he's on the loose" Brooke told her.
"He's not getting away with this. We're going to find him. Don't worry, sweetheart. Everything's going to be alright." Nona said as she hugged her.
"I'm sorry this happened, sweetie. I just want you two girls to feel safe." Nona told her as they hugged.
"I do feel safe, yet I still feel vulnerable.. when I'm with Scott." Brooke thought to herself.
"She'll be fine, the doctor said she will be. God's watching us from heaven up above. He's got it taken care of. Leave the worrying to him.. no more worrying, sweetie. It's not good for you." Nona told her.
"I'll try," Brooke said, still thinking about Scott.
Brooke was thinking about what Scott said in the park last night. She remembered what she said. Nona's always told her that "heaven is where we'll go when we die.. if we follow God. And hell is where we go if we don't."
"But either way, why would God want us to live with the ability to feel pain? He says it will be better once we die, but why can't it be better now?... What if hell is now" Brooke thought to herself.

"Nona, what made you believe in God?" Brooke asked Nona.
"What do you mean, sweetie?"
"When did you know God was real,"
Nona thought about it for a second.
"I don't quite remember. I just remember one most horrific time in my life and how that lead me to God. It was horrible. Worse than anything you could ever imagine." She told her.
"What happened, Nona?"
"Well," she said looking around Sam's room in the hospital.
"I'm horribly ashamed of this, but.. I once worshiped the devil." She said, just like that.
"What?" Brooke asked in complete shock.
"It was a kind of witchcraft, so to speak. I was once like you dear.. not sure of what to believe in. I turned down a dark path.. to a horrible, demonic, sinful force. I turned to the devil. My friends, at the time, were worshipping him. I saw how much he gave them. He gave them power, strength, ..all the things God never gave me. I wanted that. I followed Satan and his word. For a while it was going great. I had everything people like us deserve. But after a while, things got a little too... insane." Nona told Brooke, who was listening intently to every word.
"My friends Michelle and Jack, who were dating, both were involved in a little.. incident. They killed each other. They were in love, but that wasn't enough for Satan. He wanted them with him.. he wanted their souls. I'm sorry sweetie, am I scaring you? I don't want to frighten you."
"No, I love scary stories. They're the most interesting." Brooke told her.

"Alright.. well, after they passed away, my other friends and I would still meet at this old house in Long Island. Now this was years back.. I was about your age. The house was abandoned so our little group, there were still about four of us: Kim, Marshal, and Kim's boyfriend... hm. I forgot what his name was... anyway, we would meet there to continue our rituals without Michelle and Jack. But after a couple days had past from their deaths, we started hearing from them. There's some things I probably shouldn't tell you. But what made me leave was watching my friend Kim being possessed. It's indescribable. A horrifying sight to see. After that, I never heard from any of them ever again."
"Wow" Brooke said to her.
"Yes, what made me follow Christ was fear. I was scared, I felt like I would be next. I confessed my sins to God and asked him to save me and to keep me away from such insanity. I got myself baptized and finally, I was in a safer place. I didn't have everything I had before, but I had something much greater... peace."
Brooke saw into her eyes. She wasn't kidding. Brooke saw the pain in Nona's eyes as she remembered that time in her life.
"I'll be right back sweetie, have to use the ladies' room" Nona said leaving the room.
Brooke saw Sam sleeping on the hospital bed. She was peaceful. Brooke felt sorry for what happened to her. She felt like she could've prevented it somehow.
