→ chapter sixty five

"you know, you really should learn how to tell the difference between dreams and realities" the voice drawled out, the masked figure pulled out his wand, and with one wave the mask was swept away, revealing lucius malfoy.

the group had their wands raised, ready for an attack if it were to happen and chae was silently hoping they would not be attacked by a group of death eaters. but alas, one can only hope when staring into the face of evil.

"you saw only what the dark lord wanted you to see" lucius continued and chae thought he was being overdramatic "now hand me the prophecy"

"if you do anything to us, i'll break it" harry threatened. chae knew that now was not the time for the proud mum feeling to wash over her but she thanked merlin that harry was brave.

before lucius malfoy could reply, the sound of cackling laughter came from behind him. a woman came stalking up towards them, taking a place next to lucius. long black curls raced down her back and she had high cheekbones, but her eyes held nothing but craziness as she stared at them all.

"he knows how to play! itty... bitty.. baby... potter!" she hissed, in a sing-song voice that certainly was not fitting for the situation they were currently in.

"bellatrix lestrange" said neville and chae's heart cracked slightly, knowing this was the woman who had tortured his parents into insanity.

"neville longbottom is it?" bellatrix questioned, a maniacal smile on her face "how's mum and dad?"

"better now they're about to be avenged" he said daringly and raised his wand before chae could stop him, it was lucky harry had reached his arm out because bellatrix lestrange had raised her wand too.

"now, let's everybody just calm down" lucius tried, his arms raised in front of him tentatively.

"well, we were calm until you showed up" chae snarled, causing lucius to glare at her.

"i don't remember giving the half-blood permission to speak" bellatrix laughed and chaerin rolled her eyes.

"i don't remember inviting either of you but here we are now" the asian shot back.

"girls! stop it!" lucius warned "now, all we want is that prophecy"

his eyes focused back onto harry who had his wand raised and his hand clutched tightly around the small orb.

"why did voldemort need me to come and get this?" harry questioned.

"you dare speak his name? YOU FILTHY HALF BLOOD!" bellatrix shouted from beside lucius.

"it's alright, he's just a curious lad aren't you? prophecies can only be retrieved by those about who they are made" lucius explained.

chae's head turned beside her, checking for exits but nothing but death eaters surrounded them and chae could not see a way out no matter how much she racked her brain for a plan. it would seem their only option would be to fight.

"haven't you always wondered what was the reason for the connection between you and the dark lord?" he drawled once more, closing in on the group who had their wands raised in each direction "why he was unable to kill you when you were just an infant?"

"don't you want to know the secret of your scar?" he tried tempting harry "all the answers are there, potter in your hand, all you have to do is give it to me and i can show you"

lucius tried reaching his hand out for the prophecy and harry eyed him suspiciously.

"i've waited fourteen years" harry responded, lucius clicked his tongue, his eyes softening at the black-haired boy.

"i know"

"guess i can wait a little longer... NOW!" harry cried, the seven of them drawing back into one another.

"stupefy!"

the death eaters behind them disapparated and lucius blocked their spell, but it still gave them time to run, the seven of them rounded the corner however lucius reappeared in front of them causing them to change direction.

somewhere along the way, they had all been separated and chae could hear nothing but her breathing and her feet pounding against the floor as she continued to run. her head whipped round to check behind her every now and again, occasionally letting out a sigh of relief.

when chae turned back around, she came face to face with a death eater who knocked her backwards onto the ground, she let out a grunt but quickly raised her wand aiming it right at his chest.

"rictusempra!"

the spell gave chaerin enough time to get up and run, leaving her opponent on the floor trying to escape the tickling feeling the charm caused. chae's feet moved rapidly in hopes to find her friends, when she exited a row the brunette came running into them all.

a black swarm of smoke came hurdling towards them but ginny was quick enough to use the reducto spell which set off an explosion, causing the prophecies to begin falling from their designated shelves.

"get back to the door!" harry instructed.

chae ran as fast as she could whilst the seven of them tried to locate the door, trying their hardest to find a way out to escape the unmerciful death eaters. everything was crashing behind them, all that could be heard was the smashing of glass against the hard floor, the group of them trying hard not to be caught in the middle of the freefall.

the door came into sight after turning a harsh corner, they bolted quickly towards it, harry was first through the door and chae let out a shrill cry whilst she felt herself plummeting into darkness, the door slamming shut behind the group.

she hovered just above the ground, nearly hitting the floor. her wand was clutched tightly in her hand. chae landed with a thud that hurt her chest, she coughed slightly inhaling the dirt on the floor.

the black brick walls were looming over them with a sand-like floor, a pillar in the middle with what looked to be a veil in between the walls. the group stood up, dusting themselves off and chae noted that the prophecy was still intact.

"is it safe now?" chae asked hoping the death eaters were gone but harry ignored her, his attention fixed on the veil in the middle which he was walking towards.

"the voices, can you hear them?" he asked.

"what voices? harry we need to go" said hermione, the group following harry.

a flash of black smoke was seen and the group stood, with their wands raised ready to fight.

they went to make the first move but suddenly black swirls of smoke were swarming all around them, they were surrounded by death eaters and chae cried out in pain feeling somebody pull her hair brutally.

a strong arm wrapped around her neck and another around her waist, she tried to turn her head and caught a glimpse of a death eater called dolohov. the death eater used force to turn her head back towards the front, so she had a clear view of harry and lucius malfoy.

chaerin tried to stomp on the man's foot but it was no use, the death eater growled and pushed his wand against her neck.

lucius malfoy stalked close to harry, who was alert and clutching onto the crystal ball tightly.

malfoy laughed "did you actually believe, or were you truly naive enough to think children stood a chance against us"

chae let out a whimper as she put the pieces together, she had seen this place before and she had been in this situation. chaerin chang had seen this previously in a vision but what was worse was that she had no idea how this was going to end no matter how much she racked her brain, no glimpses of the future came to her.
