*9am the next morning*

Liam's POV

In the background, I could hear Paul and Louis talking with seriousness written all over their faces but I was unable to latch onto their discreet conversation. We were waiting for a few more of the bodyguards to arrive as most of the others had arrived already.

I scanned the crowd who were haphazardly stood on the field under the bright blue sky. It was a hot day and the sun was out for once in Britain.

The meeting between everyone had been scheduled at the Theatre Of Dreams aka the Manchester United FC Stadium (Old Trafford) so that we had a lot of space to do various different activities. I scanned the entrances and saw 3 people rush in, one of them carrying a little toddler in their arms. My eyes focused on their face and I recognised the person to be none other than Deepika. She was wearing the uniform that all of the bodyguard staff had been posted and behind her followed a male and a female. I assumed that the child belonged to Deepika and the male and that the female was somehow related to the couple, however, I was uncertain about the connections so I didn't say anything when the three people approached the group.

"Morning Deepika, you're looking as bright as ever today," I said politely.

"Morning Liam, you're not looking too bad yourself mate. I want you to meet my friends," she replied, referring to the two people stood behind her.

I was glad that I didn't mention the couple thing because I just found out that they were only friends.

"Hello I'm Amelia Daniels, nice to meet you Mr Payne," the female said, introducing herself by shaking my hand.

"Lovely to meet you too Amelia, call me Liam."

"Good morning Liam, I'm Ryan Terry," the male introduced himself and shook my hand as well.

He had a pretty good grip, perfect for being a part of our team.

"And who is this little fellow?" I asked, brushing the little boy's cheek with my index finger.

"Hi, I'm Lucas and I'm 3 years old. How do you do?" He replied politely before sticking his small hand out in my direction.

"Hi Lucas, I'm Liam and I'm fine, how are you?" I asked shaking his tiny hand gently.

I reached out and took Lucas from Deepika and asked, "can I take him to the others? He will make their morning brighter, especially Niall and Harry because they love kids."

Deepika nodded as if to agree and I whisked Lucas away to where the other boys were stood at the other side of the field.

"Guys come and meet little Lucas, he's a new member of our body guarding team," I said as I introduced the boy to Zayn, Harry, Niall, Paul and Louis.

"Hi Lucas!" The boys chimed, the mood getting lighter by the second.

"You're adorable Lucas, you remind me of someone but I can't pinpoint who," Zayn stated, with both Niall and Harry in agreement.

I examined the little boy again and I realised that he resembled someone that I knew.

"Louis! He looks exactly like Louis!" Harry exclaimed and Louis, along with Paul, went into a little panic mode.

"No he doesn't. He may have similar features to me but he doesn't look like me," he protested suspiciously.

"Whatever floats your boat Lou," Harry teased before taking Lucas from my arms.

As he did this, I grabbed Louis' shirt and took his away from the group so that I could interrogate him. I sat him down on a vacant stool in an isolated area and asked him my first question.

"Why are you uncomfortable about the fact that Lucas looks like you? And what was all that about back there?" I questioned my friend seriously.

"Ermm.."

"And be honest Louis, I can tell when you're lying and when you're telling the truth," I added.

"Okay but promise not to tell anyone else about this until it's confirmed. Yesterday, when Harry told us what the driving license said at the hospital, I was in shock because Deepika Desai is my childhood neighbour. We were basically twins as little kids because we were born at the exact same time in the exact same place but we grew to hate each other without reason. Well the night before the X-Factor audition, my mum forced me to take her out to the club and she looked so hot that I couldn't resist myself so I got her drunk and then had sex with her. I'm pretty sure that she wasn't drunk but we did it anyway and then I left the next day in the early morning and I haven't contacted her since. But when I saw her face properly yesterday, the day replayed in my head and, to top it all off, when we dropped Deepika home last night she invited us in where we met Amelia and Lucas. She broke the news and ended up telling me that Lucas is my son which I don't fully believe so I've organised a paternity test in the afternoon after this training stuff. I'm just really scared because if Lucas is my son, it means that I'm a crap dad already and I really want to be a good dad to my kid," Louis explained.

I was extremely taken back that Louis told me everything from the start because I wasn't expecting any of that but I comforted my best friend because he looked quite frightened.

"It's okay Louis, you'll be a great dad to Lucas if you're his biological dad; tell me one thing, why did you and Deepika hate each other so much?"

"I always wanted to get close to her in a more-than-friends way but then her foreign-exchange best friend came from America and he got all of the attention. To divert her attention onto me, I used to hate on her and then she grew to hate on me too so we ended up always at each others throats. I meant it out of love but I guess she never saw that and just hurt me back," Louis said, anger building in his eyes.

"What was this foreign-exchange student called?" I asked.

"Austin. Austin Mahone."

"Austin Mahone as in the singer? Isn't he like 5 years younger than the both of you then?" I enquired after doing the math.

"Yeah, he was in a lower year but he met with Deepika one day and the next day they were best friends," Louis answered.

"Ten more minutes before we start," someone spoke into the microphone which connected with the huge speakers surrounding the field.

I thanked Louis for sharing everything with me and in return he thanked me for lightening his burden. We both then moved back over to where the other boys were still playing with little Lucas and I'm sure I heard Louis whisper something along the lines of "I really do wish that Lucas is proven to be my son."
