"Dray, Thee. Whos that man talking to mom?"
Both Theo and Draco ran to the window Robyn was looking out of. Three of the four-year-olds were confused at the sight before them, Robyn and Theo's mother had tears streaming down her eyes while speaking to the man in front of her.
"I don't know" uncertainty was evident on Theo's face as he stared at his parent. Two of the boy's attention turned to the hallway they were in, looking for the Fossy. While Robyn was still skeptical about the picture in front of her, she forced her attention on finding the house-elf along with her best friend and brother.
Robyn was no ordinary toddler, she knew something was wrong. In fact, she has always been prided on being smart at a younger age. She pushed aside her hesitation and ran along with the boys, trying to win this game of hide and seek against the house elf.
She took a left but was stopped by the sight of an uneasy Narcissa Malfoy, she too had tears streaming down her face. This, Robyn, couldn't ignore. It wasn't exactly every day two women cried if nothing terrible happened. Robyn had realized that Narcissa looked at her through her tears, she didn't usually understand emotions well but she could see something behind Narcissa's glassy eyes.
"Auntie" Theo rushed to hug his second mother figure, he hugged what was available to him, due to his height, which happened to be her leg. For the first time since her abrupt intrusion on the kids' game, she tore her gaze off of Robyn and to the boy dancing at her feet. She flashed what seemed to be a forced smile at him; Robyn looked at Draco, but he hasn't seemed to pick up on the tension of the room.
Robyn turned her gaze back to the beautiful woman, who now had Theo in her arms who was giggling uncontrollably as a result of Narcissa's fingers at his side.
"mummy, what's wrong," Draco asked his mother while he approached her, Narcissa put Theo down and knelt to the ground so she can be at Draco's height.
"Nothing Monkey, I need to have a talk with Isla. Do you mind taking Theo and playing in the backyard?" She had both her hands on Draco's shoulders. She pulled him in to whisper something in his ear, which everyone heard. "I'm sure I've seen Fossy behind the bushes"
Theo squeaked and grabbed Draco's arm, he was pulling him towards the door that led to the huge backyard. Once the boys were out of sight, Narcissa sighed and turned her gaze back to the little girl, who stood dumbfounded.
Narcissa trudged over to her and picked her up, she guided them to a room that had three double beds in it. One had a see-through curtain around it while the other two had blue bedding, Robyn recognized this as her and the boys' room. When she was put down, she turned around, confused, and stared up at the woman.
"Yes, auntie?"
Suddenly, when Narcissa descended down to her height, she was engulfed in an embrace. Her senses were filled with a cherry-like scent, which she was familiar with, Narcissa sobbed into the little girl's shoulder. Robyn quickly wrapped her small hands around Narcissa's neck, she was uncertain why she was crying but she hugged her back either way.
When Narcissa pulled back, she chuckled at Robyn and quickly wiped her tears away.
"What do you say, Draco sleeps over here tonight?"
Robyn's eyes widened at her suggestion, she started jumping up and down while excitement coursed through her. "Really?"
"Yes, of course. But he'll have to come back home early in the morning"
"That's okay" Robyn hugged Narcissa tightly. "Thank you, Thank you, Thank you"
When they pulled back from the hug again, Narcissa looked at the little girl before her with pain behind her eyes, she scanned her small figure from head to toe; trying to memorize her.
