Season 1 Episode 3
"Tangled up in Blue"

"I can't believe you disposed of those vampires without me, you know how I love to set things on fire!"

Mornings in the Mikaelson household, Evangeline had learned, were quite eventful. And colorful. Considering murder was a casual topic over breakfast and the never ending scheming of Klaus were consider normalities in the days the Marshall twins had spent in the mansion.

Evangeline found it all rather amusing, as she sat on the windowsill with a book in her hands, one ear perched on their conversation, the other focused on the sound of the birds outside and her mind nowhere near the letters she was reading. They all remained on that very page, not gaining the luxury to meet the space inside her head, for Evangeline's thoughts were far, and far away.

Precisely, in Marcel's compound where she presumed the coffin of the elder Mikaelson brother was.

After the conversation she had with Klaus last night, Evangeline was having a hard time focusing on anything else but rescuing Elijah. Not as if it were the only thought within her head for the past few days, but last night something changed.

Her hope grew with much intensity.

The hole within her chest had been filled with Niklaus's promise, and Evangeline couldn't contain her joy as the thoughts of finally seeing Elijah again overcame her.

And how was she expected to think of anything else?

"Was I supposed to leave them in the front yard to rot?"Klaus mused from his spot of leaning against the doorway, arms crossed and a teasing smirk dancing on his mouth as he stared at his frustrated little sister.

"Besides, they were my responsibility. They attacked the helpless pregnant girl who's carrying my child."

"You had no problem attacking that helpless pregnant girl last night, so why don't you use that same tactic on yourself?"Evangeline retorted, not once rising her gaze from her book, despite the sharp glare the hybrid had etched onto the side of her face.

Rebekah snorted, patting the girl's knee before rising to her feet and coming to stand against her brother "I am so moved by your newfound sense of fatherly duty towards the werewolf carrying your hybrid bun in her oven,"

Klaus chuckled, his head dropping as his chest expanded, not caring for the sarcasm dripping within his sister's tone or the giggle Evangeline released as she shut the book she was holding and moved to sit with her back against the window. Evangeline pulled her knees up, resting her forearms against them as her sister came striding into the room holding one of Elijah's journals tightly to her chest.
