Season 1 Episode 2
"House of the rising son"

After the events of yesterday that had shaken the Marshall twins and made them question not only their sanity, but their loyalty as well, the two girls settled in the Mikaelson mansion without much of a choice.

Upon their arrival, Evangeline didn't acknowledge Klaus's mere presence. Nevertheless his unnoticed attempts of getting a rise out of her, and her not responding caused the hybrid to pout. The wolf was intriguing to more than one brother of the Mikaelson family. And while Klaus wanted someone to banter with in the lonely house, Evangeline was in no mood to entertain his antics.

The girl immediately asked Elijah about the rooms, on which she was happily informed she could choose whichever room she liked. So, Evangeline choose the room in the middle of the hall to the left.

It wasn't much. A simple room with a king sized bed, a closet and a bathroom joined to it. But still, the warm beige colour of the walls reminded her of the early rise of autumn. When everything turned just a little gray, but the sun still shone every single day.

Evangeline had taken a shower, changed into a t-shirt and shorts and quickly fell into the awaiting arms of her dreams. That were weirder than the others she often had.

After her conversation with the Mikaelson siblings, Hayley joined her soon after.

It was tradition, whenever one of the twin sisters felt low or had done something to make them feel guilty, the said twin would climb into bed with the other. Simply wishing for her sister's comfort. And by sun rise, they would reconcile with a laugh as they rose from bed.

It was simply the way they worked, despite their differences.

When they had woken up the next morning and made themselves presentable, they searched the entire house for any sight of the noble brother only to be met with emptiness.

It saddened both wolves. One more than the other. Evangeline felt betrayed, after all the promises he had made yesterday, was it truly that simple for a man like him to go back on his word without so little care? She couldn't believe it to be true. In the little time she had known Elijah, Evangeline realized that he knew virtue and that he was a man of his word.

But the nagging feeling inside her gut, the generational hatred for his species was slowly rising to the surface and she could do nothing to prevent it. He was a vampire, it was in his nature. And as much as it saddened her, there was nothing she could do but accept the fact that she had been played and move forward with the plan of protecting her sister and unborn child.
